Summer 2022 Buying Diary
Part 1: The United Kingdom
Part 2: France
PROFILE
Fashion director. After working as a buyer for "EDIFICE", he became independent. After working on his own, he launched "Reshop" in 2015. Currently, he is the conceptor of the store and also supervises various brands and labels.
What we relied on was our intuition as buyers.
After having made purchases in England and France, you have now arrived in New York.

Kaneko:Upon arrival in New York, I was overcome with the fatigue of Europe. The stores I had planned to visit were all closed, and I was feeling a little down.
Does that mean that the store is no longer there because of Corona?
Kaneko:That's part of it, but marijuana has been legalized in New York since 2021, and I feel like the mood of the city has changed somewhat.

I see.
Kaneko:Also, in the U.S., there was not as much information available as there was in Europe. If the place I was looking for was not open, I had to go there and look for information that would lead to a purchase. I was in such a hurry.
I heard that you had a fruitful experience in New York as a result.
Kaneko:I had a kind of intuition as a buyer, found something in town that looked like it might be a good story, made an appointment, and eventually led to a purchase. Anyway, I would move my feet and if I found something I liked, I would immediately contact that company. That was a bit of a relief when I found a few things on the first day.
