Two favorites.
Could you introduce some of your personal belongings?
Ogi:I brought some of them and I noticed that all of them had that thing in here. This one, what was it called here?

Currently, Mr. Ogi wears these glasses on a regular basis.
Okada:Bridge.
Ogi:Yes, a bridge.
Okada:Ogi's is a high bridge.
Ogi:This one (top photo) has a memory for me. I bought it when I went to London. I bought it when I was in London, at that famous auntie's place.
Okada:Marie? Cutler and Gross.
Ogi:Yes, Marie-san. When I went to London, an acquaintance told me to go to Marie's eyeglass shop, and there she was. I went there and Marie-san was there and told me, "This is definitely for you.
Okada:Originally, it was run by Mr. Cutler and Mr. Gross, and Marie was a new employee working there as a clerk.
Ogi:Heh.
Okada:Then, Mr. Cutler and Mr. Gross said to Marie, "The brand is in your hands," and now Marie is doing the design.
Ogi:Is Marie still there?
Okada:We met in Paris just the other day. I'm good friends with her and we always eat ramen here and there. She loves ramen.
Ogi:This too - my wife says it looks good on me, but in my mind, the glasses are already kind of too strong. The whole thing is too strong. But when I wear these in London, it's kind of nice, strangely enough.
Next, please continue.
Ogi:This one (third from the top in the photo) is the one you bought here.
Okada:It's by a female designer from Paris.
I. Is this something that Okada-san recommended?
Okada:Yes, it is. I remember people saying, "What? I remember people saying, "What's this?
Ogi:I wouldn't choose it myself. It's a little bit like being a strange person, isn't it?

How often do you hang it up?
Ogi:This is the one I use now. It has been 3 or 4 years since I bought it, but there was a time when I didn't wear it at all. There was a time when it didn't suit me at all.
Okada:If you've been wearing a different pair of glasses for a long time, you may feel that they don't suit you when you go back to your old ones.
Ogi:I have a great deal of it, and when I do, I throw it away.
Okada:Don't throw it away (laughs).
Ogi:Next is this (bottom photo), "Mykita.
Where did you buy it?
Ogi:That's our neighborhood. At first, I wore these glasses for work because they had clear lenses, but then I realized that I don't wear them for work, so I put in colored lenses. Now I wear them a lot in my private life.
They all look alike when you look at them this way.
Okada:Yes. High bridge is common.
Ogi:What does Highbridge do?

Okada:It's a shape that came out in the 70's or so, and it gives the appearance of a straight nose.
Ogi:Heh.
Okada:Originally, U.S. Air Force pilots wore double bridges. Incidentally, it started when two bridges were added to prevent twisting when wearing helmets. The one with the bottom removed is called a high bridge.
Ogi:After all, I like movies from the 70's or something like that, so when I watch them, I often see people wearing gradient lenses like these.
Okada:I see.
Ogi:So, even if you wear a top and bottom set-up jersey or something like that, it's cool just to have a gradation of lenses.

But gradation is difficult for some people to apply, isn't it?
Ogi:It's strange, isn't it? So, it's really a paper-thin line. It's a fine line.
Okada:But many things that are just outstanding are fashionable.
Ogi:Also, I don't think the gray hairs will make them look flirtatious.
Do you have gradation lenses, Mr. Okada?
Okada:You have one bottle. But it may not be much of an option.
Ogi:Why, it's gradation from now on. Gradation is definitely good. But gradation is very popular now, isn't it?
Okada:Slowly, yes.
Ogi:Slowly, huh (laughs)?
Okada:More and more European brands are putting gradients in their products, too. Like in front of sunglasses.
Ogi:If the young guys do it, I won't be able to do it anymore, but the young guys haven't done it that much yet, so now is still a good time. I decided to wear them before then. So I decided to use a gradation for the glasses I brought today. A dark green gradation.

Which one is this?
Ogi:This is also a "Mykita" brand, isn't it? I wasn't aware of the brand, but they were the same.
Do you have a formula in your opinion? For example, if the frame color is this color, the colored lenses should be this color.
Okada:Transparent frames go with everything. If it has a black frame, green would be nice, or surprisingly orange-ish.
Can you also introduce some of your recommendations?

From top: Anne Valentine, 40,700 yen; Leska Rennetier, 41,800 yen; Gernot Lindner, 92,400 yen; Anne Valentine, 55,000 yen.
Okada:Lately, I've been loving the tiny round metal. I think they are fresh and new, including the size.
Ogi:And the one I'm hanging today.
Okada:Yes, it is. The second metal from the bottom is a collaboration between "Old Joe" and "Globe Specs. And the bottom one is from a German brand, using sterling silver.
It's true, it's a bit heavy. On the other hand, the collaboration with "Old Joe" is super light.
Okada:The second one from the top is "Lesca Lunetier. I like this one because it is bigger and thicker than the metal one. They are the exact opposite, though. And the top one is from High Bridge. It is the same as Mr. Ogi's. High Bridge is becoming popular locally. The brand is "AAREM. I guess these four are the regulars these days.
However, I have the impression that each pair of glasses has a strong individuality, and not many people look good in them.
Okada:Some people are put off by this, but surprisingly there are many people who look good in them. Small metal round frames also look good on large people.
Is there anything else you would like to ask Mr. Ogi?
Okada:Ogi-san, do you have any ideas about what kind of glasses you would like to see next?
Ogi:Eh, I wonder. But I still want Okada-san to choose.
Okada:What about colors and such?
Ogi:Is it a color? But what color is it? It's like candy-like or ochre-like.
Okada:This is very trendy right now. Beige and pink.
Ogi:I am also interested in lenses that are very reflective. Recently, I saw a drama about a serial killer, and he was wearing them. I thought it was really cool. So, I watch a lot of glasses in dramas and movies like that. I also look at cars and interior design.
By the way, when you come to Globespecs, do you come in the same style as you do now?
Okada:You have a lot of COMME des GARÇONS, don't you?
Ogi:I like to go shopping with my wife and Yoshiko. My wife and Yoshiko (Moriyama) all like it, and the three of us always go shopping together.
When you are on TV, do you wear your stylist's clothes?
Ogi:That's generally true, except for Teletext.
Are you wearing your own clothes for "Godtan" or something?
Ogi:Yes, that's right. But Yahagi and Gekidan Hitori don't care too much, so I dress that way too. It's weird to be cool on a comedy show, isn't it?
By the way, do you ever talk about glasses with Mr. Yahagi?
Ogi:Hmmm, not so much. However, people often say to me, "Ogi looks good in everything.

Ms. Ogi's favorite eyeglass case is from "Anne Valentine.
