Kojima：One reason is that the three stripes are easy to hit when performing tricks on a skateboard. Another reason was that skaters at that time wore very thick pants, so the three stripes should be easily visible even if the pants were wide.
HOUYHNHNM: I see. Superstar" itself is a very standard song, but just a little arrangement gives it a very different feel.
Kojima: I think it is also important to note that fat shoe laces are used. Also, the logo on the shoe tongue and heel was a performance logo called the badge of sport at the time, but now it is adorned with trefoil.
