Inspiration is born.
Chill time at my favorite bar.

The last place we visited was BEAT CAFE, a bar quietly operating in the club district of Maruyamacho, Shibuya. Counting from before its relocation, this year marks its 17th year as a long-established bar that has supported Shibuya in the 2000s from the aspects of music and fashion, etc. . Despite its long history, BEAT CAFE still attracts many young customers, making it a hub for people of all ages and races.
The mysterious deer sculpture, the color of the walls, and the many posters and flyers make it fun just to be there. It's easy to stop by after skating in Shibuya, so I come here often. Sometimes I come here with friends, and other times I just have a drink alone in the early hours of the day. There are also clubs close by, so I often stop by here before going out. This yellow T-shirt is a good choice for a night out like that. It looks flashy, but it blends in surprisingly well with my regular clothes, and I also think it will help me stand out in the dark (laughs).

And when talking about "BEAT CAFE," one must not forget the owner, Mr. Katman. He has a deep knowledge of music, a cheerful personality, and a kind heart. He is well-liked and loved by everyone, and many customers come here for his sake. He is what is called a famous owner.
Mr. Katman is more like an old friend than a big brother . He is one of the few senior members with whom I can have a frank relationship. . He is interesting to talk to, and he knows a lot about culture, so I learn a lot from him. In fact, I am often unconsciously stimulated and influenced by him, and in that sense, the Beat Café may be a natural place for inspiration.

One of the main features of BEAT CAFE is that many customers come from overseas. On weekends, the place is filled with people of all races and nationalities, and it is easy to forget that you are in Japan. It is truly a place that can be called a melting pot of races, and sometimes big-name musicians visit the cafe on their own, making for a chaotic night out.
My grandmother was an English teacher, so I can speak English for everyday conversation, and I get along with foreigners just fine. They are usually satisfied with the place (laughs). Everyone is usually satisfied (laughs). (Laughs). It is nice to be in a place where you can communicate with people you would not normally have the chance to meet. I can feel firsthand the sense that my world is expanding.

Creating in his studio, skateboarding, which is more than a hobby, and nightlife, which inspires him and expands his community. All of these activities are an integral part of DAIMON's life work. Looking at DAIMON's daily life, which he enjoys to the fullest as if he were in his twenties, it seems as if the things he cherishes are directly reflected in his artwork.
All three of the spots I photographed this time are important to me, and I feel that each has a positive influence on the other. I don't intend to ignore logic or theory, but I like works that show the personality of the person who has spent time there.
