The first angler to catch a fish was our own Ichikawa! We fished with the bass rod "SWAGGER".
Ichikawa:I had brought the "SWAGGER" to throw a big bait or minnow when a sea bass chasing small fish floated to the surface. I wanted to use the "SWAGGER" for now, so I put a metal jig on it and dropped it, and it bit on the bottom.

Ishii and Murayama caught it at the same time.
Ishii:I caught a fish! I honestly didn't think it would be easy to catch it, but since everyone else was catching them, my expectations were all over the place. It wasn't as violent as a bass, but it was heavy on the reel. When I caught it, it was this big!
It was a blast of fishing time that continued throughout the rest of the day.
Ishii:Three in a row! I think I'm getting the hang of it! I heard that the GO OUT fishing club caught a big one using a jig head worm. I tried to imitate him and got a hit, but it was only 50-55 cm. I'm going to switch to bigger lures from now on, because this time it's all about size.
Murayama:When the lure lands on the bottom and you reel it in a little, you can catch it! The second fish I caught was 59 cm, but the average size was a little over 50 cm. From this point on, the key to success is to catch a big one.
Ichikawa:I think I caught about 6 fish. But I can't seem to get them up in size. It's a very extravagant problem (laughs). Swagger is working very well.
Everyone's poles kept bobbing. It reminded me of shooting practice when I used to play soccer.
A flock of birds flying around is a sign of opportunity. Large fish such as sea bass are chasing down small bait fish to the surface, and the seagulls are also trying to catch them. This is known as a bird swarm, and it is an extremely hot moment in salt lure fishing. The excitement is quadrupled!
In fact, the sea bass we caught had a small sardine in its mouth. They are about the same size as the metal jigs that everyone uses. Match-the-bait, choosing a lure that matches the bait, is the same for both black bass and sea bass.
Under such conditions, the GO OUT Fishing Club also caught fish one after another.
Miura:Fishing is in great shape! Fishing for the first time in a long time is great. I'm changing lures now and then to increase the size.
SHIGO:It is similar to bass fishing with rubber jigs to make the fish bite by falling, but the way of hooking the fish seems to be different. The captain told me that I was too slow when I was matching the hook as I do when bass fishing. I think it is important to set the hook as soon as you get a bite.
They were using the "Soltiga FK Jig SLJ". However, Mr. Liuya was using a different lure.
Liuya:If we were to fish the same way as everyone else, we would only catch the same size fish, so we are changing our methods.
It seems difficult to catch a fish over 60cm in length with a metal jig. So, we also tried to catch them by trial and error. Ishii and Ichikawa are using such a big bass lure "STEEZ Spoon".
Ishii:The GO OUT team seems to be catching big ones, so I'm using the "STEEZ spoon" to try to increase the size. It must be the big ones that eat these. I have never handled a lure this big even when bass fishing, and I have no idea how it works.
Ichikawa:Maybe it's too big, but I lost the bite. I give up on this once. Swimming a swim jig seems to be a good idea.
Liuya:I want to use that!

Forgetting that it was a showdown project, everyone was enjoying themselves in a friendly atmosphere. Ichikawa, who had been doing this for a while with a different lure, caught this fish.
