The power of trail shoes is verified in the mountains!
The second day after the first dawn. On this day, we will experience the new TECTON X 2 trail running shoes in the mountains.

The Tecton X 2 is equipped with a carbon plate in the midsole. The Tecton X 2 is positioned as a racing model for elite runners among Hoka's trail running shoes.
The field for this trail run is Mt. Sawtooth Mountain is a low mountain at 329 meters above sea level, but it is popular among men and women of all ages as an easy-to-climb mountain in Chiba Prefecture, which has few mountains.
The starting point is Hamakanaya Station on the JR Uchibo Line. It is located at the foot of Mt.

A commemorative photo was taken of all the participants, and off we went!
The day's trail run was a 13-kilometer round course from Hamakanaya Station to the top of Mt. Sawtooth Mountain via a trail called Kururikido, and then down to Hamakanaya Port via a trail and forest road.
After proceeding along the road from Hamakanaya Station for a while, a sign for "Mt.

From the trailhead, take the trail to the top of Mt. Sawtooth Mountain, where high quality stones are mined, was once the site of active stone mining. The people who carried out the stones were called "shuriki," and they carried the quarried stones down to the foot of the mountain via this road.

The weather that day was rainy. Trail running is a nature-based activity, and equipment should be considered according to the weather conditions of the day. A waterproof rain jacket that can withstand the rain is indispensable.

The Tecton X 2 is equipped with a lightweight Vibram Mega Grip on the outsole. It provides a steady grip even on wet and muddy surfaces.

The upper is made of a highly durable synthetic fiber called Matrix. Its hydrophobic and quick-drying properties make it resistant to water and easy to dry even when wet.
In the middle of the trail are the remains of a quarry.

This is a road cut through a rock wall called a kirikiri (cut-through). It is one of the highlights of Mt.
After reaching the ridge and following the trail for a while, we arrived at the summit of Mt!

However, the view was zero due to bad weather. Shame.
The trail run continues. From the summit, continue further along the trail toward the forest road entrance.

Enomoto running through a forest road. Every time he lands on the ground, he can feel the high cushioning and propulsive force provided by the carbon plate.
After getting on the road, we drove along the seaside road for a while and headed toward the Hamakanaya Port, the finish line.

And the finish! We successfully completed a 13-kilometer, 2.5-hour trail run.
