Intelligence is necessary for both the creator and the receiver.
This is the third season for "Sepabus," and just the other day a fake was discovered.
Kagami: Yes, that's right! A logo thing called "SEPARATE MIND & REASON" was discovered.
Kagami: It hasn't caught on yet, but I'm already cracking up (laughs).
Hasegawa: It looks like they are sister brands (laughs). But if you just change the letters, it's hard to tell which one is the original.

It also requires literacy on the part of the recipient, doesn't it?
Kagami: Yes, yes. So it's a matter of taste. If you have a sense of how to imitate, it's fine.
Hasegawa: You can see homages of all kinds in street brands, but they are considered cool because they have a good sense of how to showcase their work, right? So-called "imitations" are not attractive at all, neither in the way they are used nor in the way they are finished. It's tacky. I've been imitated so much that my assistant even called out on social media to find an amateur model and had her photographed in the same location with the same model, and I was really pissed off (laughs). (Laughs.) It was really annoying because it was hard to tell the difference in quality when the images were small, like on Instagram. Some people even thought I was doing it. If you look closely at a large image, his styling is totally tacky. I think both the creator and the recipient need to be intelligent. Are your artworks imitated by others?
Kagami: I don't see any benefit in copying my work (laughs). It would probably be difficult.
Hasegawa: I guess people haven't reached that level. Art is the only thing that requires intelligence.
Kagami: It seems to be the easiest to imitate, but I think it is the hardest to imitate. It's not like drawing people or anything like that.
Hasegawa: But one day, it seems to be born by chance. The other day, a letter I wrote on a sticky note happened to be in a Kagami-kun-like font (laughs).
Kagami: Some years ago, there was an ad in front of a station in Shibuya with a handwritten message by a celebrity. It was written in black letters on a white background, so a lot of people thought it was my work. I was tagged on Instagram.
Hasegawa: That pisses me off. That's the worst kind. I don't know what the art director who did that thinks he is living in the art world.
Kagami: Contemporary art is so easily exploited. If you're not careful, you can end up in court.
What did you think of Sepabus when it was taken down?
Kagami: I thought that was interesting (laughs).
Hasegawa: How did you actually like that product?
Kagami: The fabric was thin and cheap-looking. Sepabus" claims to be "a little sustainable" and uses organic cotton, but the counterfeit was 1001 TP10T polyester (laugh).
Did you like Mr. Kagami's creations or artworks?

Hasegawa: Kagami and I are only in the same grade, and our birthdays are one day apart. That's why I don't feel like we are strangers (laughs).
Kagami: You always say that, don't you? I think it was Hasegawa-kun who first featured Kagami Font. I think it was Hasegawa who first featured the Kagami font in a sticker in "Popeye.
Is it something like, "Go back to your parents' house"?
Kagami: That's right. They even let the models wear T-shirts from my "C" brand.
Did you like the mood of the place, or the slightly offbeat feeling?
Hasegawa: Well, I intuitively thought it was interesting. I also bought this hat in LA.

I used to say, "AH.HYou were also featured in the book "The World's Most Beautiful People".
Kagami: ."Tartine BakeryThe "I'm sorry" one.
Hasegawa: It is a bakery from San Francisco, and they were opening their first store in L.A. I went there when it was just opened and found this. I thought it looked like Kagami-kun, and it really was.
Kagami: I got an offer directly from you on Instagram, and I made a pin badge for you.
I think Kagami-san went to San Francisco for a period of time.
Kagami: I don't know. But I used to go to your store in San Francisco. Not so much then, but now it's famous.
Hasegawa: It's delicious and a very nice restaurant.
