-What schedule will you be working on today?

Kondo:I'm going to return the items used for the shoot and lease an outfit I want to use for another project. I also have one more meeting in the evening.

-I see that you have a very full schedule. Do you always travel by car?

Kondo: Yes, I do. I drive almost every day when I work. If I don't drive, it feels like a holiday (laughs).

-I have the image of you styling a wide range of genres, but what kind of work do you do most often these days?

Kondo: From fashion to outdoor activities, I do a variety of things. Fashion styling was the catalyst for my expansion, and recently I have been doing interior design work as well.

-You are further broadening the scope of the project.

Kondo: I actually went to an interior design school, which I enjoyed. I have a lot of friends from back then who work in the interior design industry, so it's easy to talk to them about things.

-Fashion, outdoor, interior design. Do you have a different approach to each of these jobs?

Kondo: I try to change it as much as possible. I get bored easily, so it is more enjoyable for me to work with different ways of thinking.

-Despite the fact that you're bored, there are some things that you've always loved, haven't you?

Kondo: I have always loved American vintage clothing. I have been wearing Levi's Staples and Dickies work pants for a long time, and Ralph Lauren BD shirts are my staple items that I keep wearing, even though I keep buying new ones.

-What do you consider important when styling?

Kondo: In outdoor and interior design, I try to build a picture of a person. I try to create a picture of the person who would have this kind of thing. I try to create a story about the kind of lifestyle he or she would like.

-I am aware even outside the frame of the photo, he said.

Kondo: It is an influence from a photographer who is a good friend of mine. But in fashion, on the contrary, I don't worry about that. I think it is more interesting to have a sense of humor and playfulness, so I try not to think too hard about it.

-On a different note, I heard that you recently had a baby. Has your life changed?

Kondo: Yes, I do. I like the outdoors and traveling, but it looks like I won't be able to go for a while. When things settle down a bit, I would like to take my wife on a trip to a hot spring.
