Focus on high-quality materials and incorporate them into a modern, simple design. These words may sound simple at first glance, but as we all know, they are extremely difficult to achieve. MARGARET HOWELL" and its casual line "MHL." have been making these words a reality for many years and continue to produce clothes that transcend time and generation. We took a short trip to a seaside town with Asami Usuda and Kai Inowaki, who were wearing such clothes. Photographer Kotori Kawashima captures fragmentary images of the two, which give a sense of the beginning of a story.

Margaret Howell offers a variety of knitwear from high gauge to low gauge. Among them are a stand collar driver's knit made with soft lamb's wool for a relaxed fit, and a V-neck knit made in England, knitted slowly and airily on a hand weft knitting machine, which gives you the pleasure of being wrapped in it every time you wear it.

These sneakers are based on vintage military training shoes, a design source that is typical of MHL. The white upper, finished in a combination of smooth leather and nubuck, contrasts with the moderate volume of the heavy gum sole for a cozy look.
