Harada-san, what kind of secondhand clothes have you been interested in lately?
Harada:. I'm enjoying finding new things as the old ones are getting fewer and fewer. In the past, it would have been mostly from the 50s to the 70s, but these days it is mostly from the 90s and onward.
Do you have a preference among them?
Harada: I like interesting and cute clothes rather than vintage and valuable ones. Also, I like things that are easy to buy. I look for things I've never seen before, or things I'd like to try on, because the things that everyone thinks are good are already valuable.
Is that what you are wearing today?
Harada: Yes, I buy leather pants and such when I can find good ones. These are from " Bates " in the early 70's, and I like the beige color.
The knitwear is also very cute.
Harada: I love the color purple (laughs). (Laughs.) This was an instant decision. I think it was hand-knit in the 60's or so, and the tag says something like "knitted by me," so I think it was probably made by someone somewhere as a hobby.
. I really like the color contrast between the down shirt and the knit.
Harada: I like this color combination and do it often, like in the 90s, there was a lot of color matching like this.
What is your impression of Woolrich?
Harada: . we have a history of OEM production for various brands. . Even when I look at them in thrift stores, there are many different kinds of clothes. . So I have the impression that there are a lot of buried masterpieces. . Among them, there are some unusual items, and I buy those that I think are rare.
For example, what kind of things do you have in mind?
Harada: It is a reversible down vest, yellow on the front, but when you turn it over, it has a white and navy blue gingham check. Such things are very rare in the outdoors, and may have been made as ski wear.
How do you like Woolrich Outdoor Label clothes?
Harada: I think the original clothes are from the 70's or so, but the fabrics and detailed designs have been incorporated into today's sensibilities. This creates a mood that cannot be found in the clothes of that time.
. This time, I asked him to wear a down shirt with a distinctive western yoke.
Harada: I love clothes that are switched at the yoke. . I can wear it like a shirt, and it is the most useful because it is easy to layer. For example, it would be interesting to wear a tight leather jacket inside to create a combination of outerwear and outerwear. I think this is the kind of item that allows you to enjoy a variety of styling options with this shirtdown as the core.
