New Woolrich winter outerwear and the daily lives of four people.

Have you heard about the "Woolrich Outdoor Label" launched in 2018? This collection focuses on the basics of the historic WOOLRICH brand. The collection is universal, yet updated to suit the times, and gently attuned to the mood of the moment. This time, we focus on down jackets. We asked four people of various ages and titles, from stylists, designers, and vintage clothing store staff to SNS planners, to try on these jackets.

Murata-san, did you always want to be a designer?

Murata:. I love clothes, and when I got to the bottom of that love, I decided I wanted to become a designer.

Where does your design inspiration come from?

Murata: I like vintage clothing, so that's where ideas come from, or my family is also in the apparel industry, so I use the clothes they wear as a reference. I like to keep my antennae open in various places, and I like to observe people. I look at people on the street and wonder, "Why is that person wearing that outfit? I often think to myself, "I've been seeing this kind of clothing a lot lately.

. So input is important.

Murata: Yes, that's right. It is better to have many drawers, and I bring them out at the best time and with the best approach, and use them in my designs. Relaxation is also important, and I switch off my brain when I come to museums or parks. I like that kind of time.

What kind of clothes do you prefer?

Murata: I am on the taller side, so I often wear menswear-like clothes or clothes with a loose silhouette. My rule is to add a feminine touch to my clothes, or to make them more girly by the way I wear them.

What do you think of the Woolrich Outdoor Label coat?

Murata: . Despite its long length, it was very lightweight when I put it on. I found the combination of functionality and design appealing. In particular, the pattern is designed to round out the silhouette of the shoulders, and the side blocks under the arms have been added to give the overall silhouette a three-dimensional look.

The silhouette is very beautiful, isn't it?

Murata: Yes . It doesn't look too masculine. I have never worn long down jackets before, but this one is easy to use. It can be worn with pants, or with a skirt or dress. It's very easy to imagine how I would wear it.

What did you have in mind for the coordination?

Murata: . Since the down is in navy, I used orange for a pop of color. Also, down has a casual impression, so I added a mode element to the bottom to prevent it from becoming too casual. I add and subtract while looking at the overall look to achieve a good balance.
