Ms. Yoshikawa, what styles of fashion do you think will be popular in the year 2023?
A vintage clothing store located in Aoyama, Tokyo.BLUE ROOM," in London.Royal Ragzz. etc., I feel that the mix style of outdoor, street brand vintage clothing around 2000 was fresh for young people and spread globally as a new style.
What styles do you think will be popular in 2024?
Since the Paris Olympics will be held, global sports brands are expected to release gear equipped with cutting-edge technology, and I believe that the sports mix style will become a trend. The base will be American casual, with sporty elements mixed in to spice up the look.

Store owner of the fashion and music based concept store "BOY" in Udagawa-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. as a DJ, he has appeared at many music festivals, live concerts, and club events around Japan under the name TOMMY (BOY). He is also active in radio and TV appearances, event planning and production, and writing, and enjoys being involved in various cultures on a daily basis.

Mr. Okutomi, could you tell us about your best buys this year?
This shell jacket was released in the spring/summer of 2023 by "TTTMSW.
I thought that knitwear and other cute silhouettes would not suit me, but I was so happy to be able to wear my favorite floral pattern without feeling uncomfortable in a shell jacket that I immediately decided to go for it. Since it is a shell jacket, I wore it at festivals, outdoor events, and even out for a quick drink in the neighborhood. I can wear it without worrying about it losing its shape, and it has become quite comfortable on my body.
What items were popular at BOY this year?
This year, the theme of the BOY lineup was "Wear something that soothes your heart in hard times. This does not mean that we want to propose loose-fitting silhouettes, but rather, "relaxing" in the sense of the warmth that each garment radiates and the effect it has on the body and mind.
As for items, I got the impression that animal prints, sweatshirts with surrealistic prints, boxy blousons, loose cargo pants, and other items responded well. Although it is difficult to categorize by genre, brands with a strong handmade color were also popular in terms of the warmth created by things that touch the skin.
What kind of coordination would you like to try next year?
I would like to interpret the mood of fashion and music of the early 2000s in a modern way, with an image that is slightly different from the so-called Y2K image.
Items are zip-up parkas, canvas or other low-tech sneakers, velour jackets and tailored jackets. Also, flared denim about 517, border cut-and-sew, and chemical wash. I would also like to incorporate punk items such as studs. Hand-hammered studs, crusts, and patchwork may look hard at first glance, but to me, they have the warmth of a human hand.
