Spring Style with MIYASHITA PARK
Spring is formal attire. The story of Shuntaro Yanagi and Marika Ito.

Yanagi: For this shoot, I had a clear idea of the visual atmosphere or mood I wanted to create, and I was able to sense the classical taste of the 90s, so it was easy to work with. During the shoot, I had a chance to check out some photos, and they looked cool, like old commercials.

Ito: I also thought to myself, "The times are turning. It is strange and interesting that the same is true of old advertisements, and that the clothes of the time look fresh and cool now.

Yanagi: I like the styling of the photo shoot at the airfield. The Adidas Originals logo on the T-shirt is classic and attractive. The Adidas Originals logo on the T-shirt is classic and attractive, and combined with the denim, I was able to successfully express the mood of the 90s.

Ito: The coordination of the airfield is my favorite too. I usually wear [adidas Originals jerseys, so I didn't feel out of place, and the sneakers were cute. The sneakers were cute, and although they were worn with denim, they were very fashionable and looked very current.

Yanagi: I have had ice cream from KITH TREATS. It was a very unique ice cream, with many different flavors mixed in. It was so delicious.

Ito: Heh! I'm curious.

Ito: I like the rooftop of MIYASHITA PARK. There are benches on every floor, and they are very helpful.

Ito: When I want to kill some time, work a little, or read a book, I spend my time sitting there. The other day, I was actually sitting there relaxing (laughs).

Yanagi: I moved to Tokyo about 15 years ago, and when I wanted to hang out with friends, we would always gather in Shibuya. There was a spot near the scramble crossing where we could all get together, and in our spare time we would sit there and talk aimlessly for a long time. It was a place where all kinds of communication took place, and I think it was also a town where adults gathered.

Ito: I have the impression of a city in fast transition. There are many advertisements in the landscape, and the image is one of constant movement. There is just so much information. But when I went out with my friends, I always started in Shibuya.

Yanagi: I feel like everyone is gathering in Shibuya in search of culture.

Ito: Indeed. There is fashion, music, and all kinds of culture. I think Shibuya has a charm that other cities don't have.

Yanagi: In this photo shoot, many of the outfits were coordinated as a set-up, and I think that wearing matching top and bottom outfits creates a sense of formal attire. It kind of turns on the switch.

Ito: I am the same way. I think a set-up is something that makes you stand up straight when you want to lift your spirits or when you feel like you have to be on your game. I also think that a dress or a one-piece outfit that can be completed with just one piece is also formal attire. I feel that these are special clothes that are a little different from the clothes we normally wear.

Ito: I love clothes so much that I only wear them to make myself feel better every time. I don't have many monotone clothes, and I don't feel comfortable unless there is color somewhere.

Yanagi: I usually wear something really simple. So when I wear a suit once in a while, it really lifts my spirits. Also, I recently realized that accessories can lift my mood. I had never worn jewelry before, but by chance I put on an accessory at a store. I had never worn jewelry before, but I happened to put it on at a store, and it changed my mood instantly. I wasn't interested in watches either, but I thought I might try wearing one. When I put on an accessory, it makes me want to dress up my clothes accordingly, and I felt a mysterious power.

Ito: I also carry jewelry with me at all times. I have a ring and necklace that I wear as a talisman. Even if I am dressed inappropriately after work, as long as I have them, I can keep my mood in check.

Yanagi: It is a game of how close I can get to the role, so sometimes my personal clothes tend to be in that direction. Therefore, the costume is not so much about what makes me feel good as it is about how calm I can be. When I play a role in a costume that I would not normally wear, such as a uniform, it sometimes turns me on in a different way.

Ito: I value the time spent at costume fittings very much. That's when I can clearly see what fits the role and what doesn't. Clothing has the power to appeal visually, so I am very influenced by it. Clothes have the power to appeal visually, so I am very much influenced by them.

Yanagi: Costume fitting is very important, isn't it? That's the first step, isn't it?

Ito: Sometimes the role I have in mind and the image of the clothes are totally different. If I am unclear, it will affect my performance, so we discuss and correct the situation.

Ito: Yes, there is. It's like I can understand the character of the role when I try on the costume. That is why costume fitting is so important.

Yanagi: I totally understand that. The costumes reveal the character's personality. Sometimes the clothes give me hints.

Yanagi: My clothes are influenced by the movies I watch and the music I listen to. Because of my job, my hairstyle changes frequently, and what I wore last spring often doesn't suit me at all this year. This year I think I can grow my hair a little longer, so I want to dress like an American casual guy like before. I want to wear flannel shirts with denim.

Ito: I had short hair for a while and wore loose, menswear-like clothes. On the other hand, I think I will feel more feminine with longer hair now and enjoy the contrast with menswear-like clothes. On the other hand, I also want to wear feminine outfits, and I would like to broaden my range this spring.
