The culture of the messenger.
Now is the time for rekindling.

- Blue Lug" has an established reputation for making bags, but what is your impression of "Yak Pack"?
Matsumoto: There is a messenger bag craze at Blue Rag right now, and I bought myself a classic one. Yes, they are cool with their old-fashioned style, but they are sturdy, hard, heavy, and hard to take out. On the other hand, I felt that Yak-Pak was made in a modern way. The lightness of the fabric, the ease of access to the luggage, and the simplicity of use made me feel comfortable using it. Also, the "Brooklyn" sign on the bag is not fair. It's very touching (laughs).

- So messenger bags are experiencing a resurgence right now.
Matsumoto: Until recently, the trend was to attach baskets to bicycles and have the bicycles carry the luggage. When that trend settled down and people started carrying their own bags again, there was a sense that the messenger movement that once existed, especially in the U.S., was about to be rekindled. I enjoy the fact that now there are more and more new brands to choose from, in addition to the traditional standard products.

- The water repellent feature is the key. Do you ride your bicycle in the rain?
Matsumoto: I would wear a rain poncho and ride in the rain. If I take the water out of the bicycle and put it inside the house or something, I think the progress of rust will not be so severe.

- After all, as a bicycle lover, I don't want to take the train too often.
Matsumoto: Come to think of it, a customer recently asked me, "Is it safe to ride the train with a messenger bag?" I was asked. I said, "Yes, it would definitely be better to ride a bicycle! I said, "Yes, you should definitely ride a bike! (Laughs.) I thought, "I guess it's come to the point where it has become a fashion style for bicycles. The Yak-Pak can be carried on the street as a shoulder bag, or it can be used like a messenger bag. It can be worn casually, for business, or just about anything, and it will fit in well with everything.
