WONK x Jinmenusagi Special roundtable discussion in commemoration of the release of the collaboration song "Here I Am".
Making music in this chaotic world.

WONK, with its one-of-a-kind creativity and overwhelming musicality, has a unique presence, and now the band has approached rapper Jinmenusagi to collaborate on the release of "Here I Am," a song that WONK's profound sound has inspired Jinmenusagi to pen, and the resulting piece is titled "Chaos. The theme of the resulting piece is "chaos. It is a must-listen for hip-hop fans and hip-hop enthusiasts alike, as it stirs up a variety of emotions and sometimes pierces our ears with a sharp edge. We interviewed the creators, who said they had never released everything so strongly before, and asked them what was on their minds.

Whether the deeds are good or bad, if they attract attention, they make money.

-How did you feel when Jinmenusagi's lyric was actually completed?

Nagatsuka: There was even a rap song in there , and we were all clapping already.

Inoue: . It's punchy, but it's also witty. There is a cleverness to it, which I thought was very much a part of Rashisa (of Jinmenusagi). Kento's lyrics are relatively abstract and heavy, whereas the rap parts are very concrete and catch my ear, which I thought was simply amazing.

Ezaki: While you started out by talking about the chaos in Shinjuku and other cities, I think the core of your work is also about raising issues about the music industry.

Jinmenusagi: From the point of view of the chaos of the city, what is taking place in such urban areas is economic activity, isn't it? . When I talk about the chaos, I feel that the findings of the field in which I am involved have come out.

-What exactly did you talk about?

Jinmenusagi: I think I first sent a letter to the WONK side to confirm how much I could really say. At that time, they said "OK! but as it turned out, there were quite a few parts that weren't so good (laughs). (Laughs.) But it highlighted my lack of understanding of what is and is not socially acceptable, so I will make use of that in the future....

Inoue: How can anyone be sorry after writing these lyrics? (Laughter)

Jinmenusagi: I did! (Laughs)

Inoue: But I thought this was pretty realistic. To speak out is also to throw it at someone, so some people may find it interesting, while others may be shocked. So far, WONK by itself has not gone that far, so it was interesting to me.

Ezaki: Apart from the content of the current work, I also thought a lot about whether it is possible to express myself in a way that does not hurt people.

-Do you think it is possible to express yourself in a way that does not hurt anyone?

Ezaki: Well, I think it is difficult.

Inoue: I am the same way. No matter how beautifully you say something, someone will always have something to say, and that is the way of the world today.

Ezaki: Also, I guess the media used to do this kind of thing where statements were cut off and interpreted differently... but now individuals can do that kind of thing, so it's even tougher.

Jinmenusagi: I think the world has become a place where people can complain about anything if they want to. For example, there is a lyric in the current work, "Shortcake-flavored disinfectant," and if we actually sent out the lyric, the disinfectant manufacturer would probably say that it was harmful to their reputation. . But they wouldn't say that because it doesn't make sense. . I think there are more of those moments where you get something out of an accusation.

Inoue: Indeed . I think that rather than the quality of the expression, things like who saw it and how much they saw it have become quite important.

Ezaki: Impressive zombies.

Inoue: Like the impresario zombies (laughs), if you say something radical or criticize something radical in a reply, people will only focus on that. People who say bad things get more out of life than those who say bad things. . It's sad, but that's the way the world works now.

Ezaki: Whether their deeds are good or bad, if they attract attention, they make money.

Inoue: For example, saying something radical as an expression of one's own and generating a variety of criticism has been around for a long time, and I think it is one form of expression. I think there is a fundamental difference between this and the growth of social networking sites of people who criticize a part of the site. But now they are seen on the same ground, aren't they?

Ezaki: And I think it should really be much worse to depict stabbing someone to death in a movie than to use terrible words as lyrics or text in extreme cases. It's strange that images are taken as being fictional, and when it comes to text, they are regulated.
