The first collaboration between "GU" and "UNDERCOVER" was realized in 2021. This challenging experiment, which was initially met with surprise, has now become an important topic that has caught the attention of the fashion scene after three team-ups. And now, on September 27, the long-awaited fourth collaborative collection will be launched. For this issue, we asked four experts who have a special attachment to Undercover to speak freely about the appeal of Undercover and the g.u. collaborative collection. What is the comfortable noise in our daily lives that emerges from each of their perspectives?

-I would like to conclude this roundtable discussion by asking for a few words of feedback from each of you.

SYUNKI:The great thing about this collection is that it is affordable for everyone, yet it is made with attention to detail and materials. Just as I first fell in love with clothes through "Undercover," I believe that some of the younger generation, such as junior high and high school students, will become interested in fashion through this collaborative collection, so this is a very good project in that sense.

Target area:It really is. Contrary to what Mr. SYUNKI said, I think that fans of "UNDERCOVER" will become interested in "g.u."'s inline as a result of this collaboration, and I think it would be great if the fun and freedom of fashion could spread in this way. Johnny:I have always loved "Undercover" and have been exposed to the brand through many shows, and as a regular g.u. customer, I was happy to see everyone for the first time in a while through this collaborative collection.

TEPPEI:The most important thing is whether or not there is an Undercover-like feel to the collection. This kind of collaboration tends to be catchy, but this collaboration collection is supervised by Jun Takahashi and has a mix of "g.u." style. I think the best part of this collaboration is the perfect balance between the two. That's why, when I look at the styling of the four of us here, it doesn't look fake, and we are able to wear the clothes in a natural way that coexists with each of our own "character.

-The way the four designers wore the clothes and their comments proved that this collection could reach people who have actually lived in the middle of the culture.

Johnny:Oh, but I have one last thing to say: I have five pairs of wide pants made of terry cloth that are items from "g.u.". So I think I am definitely the one who loves "g.u." the most.
