Miyuki Aihara chooses a gift for someone special at D'Orsay.

As the air becomes translucent and cooler in the coming season, fragrances seem to stand out for some reason. Perfumes by the French-born D'ORSAY are characterized by a soft fragrance that defies the stereotyped notion of perfumes. The playfulness of the French style, with all the models represented by the initials of a certain person and a poetic caption, is sure to spice up your gift-giving. For the holiday season, we asked model Miyuki Arihara, a regular DORSÉ user, to choose a DORSÉ perfume for her loved one, while sharing her thoughts on gifts and fragrances.

If I were to give it to myself today.

Now, if you were to choose a new "D'Orsay" brand, which one would it be?

Zaihara: I will be turning 26 soon, and I think I need a little change in myself, so I wanted to have a fragrance that would lead me to change a little from the inside out.

Dorsay: Now try "E.Q.". It is the same as our favorite "A.R.," but this one has musk in it, and furthermore, it has jasmine in the back, which gives it a bit of a temperature feel. The "A.R." is minimalistic and simple, but this one has the same musk but is more emotional. So it's not a big change, but rather a change that oozes out, and the image is that of a woman becoming an adult. So to speak, the trunk is the same, but the branches and leaves are changed a little.

How about the actual fragrance?

Zaihara: It is a very nice fragrance. It's hard to describe in words, but it's really pleasant, a bit elegant, and a very positive scent.

I think that if you can find a scent that fits well with you, then perfume becomes your ally.

Zaihara: Perfume is the closest thing to one's skin, more than clothes or anything else. So it is almost like a talisman, or something that boosts and calms me.
