PROJECT MEETS MEN'S FASHION

When Halo Pro Wears Men's Clothing. ~ I want to discuss fashionable~.

When you hear the word "idol attire," what comes to mind: frilly skirts? Big ribbons? While this is certainly not wrong, it may be a bit too stereotypical. Now that the word "genderless" has become familiar, and it is common for women to wear men's clothes, idols can wear men's clothes, too. So this time, we would like to introduce you to the "idols of idols," Hello! Project, the "idol of idols," we would like to introduce you to Rashi Sakurai, a member of Morning Musume。 24's Rio Sakurai, Suzuran Ise of Angeurum, and Shiori Nishida of BEYOOOOONDS from Hello! What kind of makeover will they achieve? Please enjoy their free-spirited fashion.

After Talk after the shoot. Let me hear what's going on in the fashionable halo industry.

Thank you all for your hard work on the self-styling. How was it looking back?

Sakurai: It was a dream come true to be surrounded by so much clothing. I love fashion, so I was just happy!

Ise: I have never worn men's clothes in such a drastic way before, and I frankly had a lot of fun with it!

Nishida: In my life, I have never worn men's clothing in my casual wear, so this was a new experience for me. I feel like I have found a new me!

Although it was only for a short time, it was fun to catch a glimpse of the three parties' views on fashion. Is there anyone among the members of Halo Pro that you use as a fashion reference?

Sakurai: I'm Haruna Iikubo, who is a Morning Musume OG, and she has a WEAR page, so I check how she matches her clothes. I like her taste, so I use her as a reference. I also like Chisaki Morito.

Ise: I am Rika Shimakura of BEYOOOOONDS, and she always wears simple clothes like T-shirts and jeans, but there are only a few people who look good in such clothes. She also wears T-shirts with movie motifs as her hobbies. She chooses clothes that suit her because she is Shimakura, and I think it's wonderful.

Nishida: Before I started this job, I had been checking out Suzuran Ise's Instagram and Rairi's (Sakurai) coordination with pinpoint accuracy (laughs).

Sakurai, Ise: I'm glad to hear that!

As it happens, today you were sandwiched between two fashionable people for Mr. Nishida.

Nishida: That's right! That's why I've always wondered why I'm here (laughs). Both of them really know how to wear any kind of clothes, so as girls of the same age and in the same profession, I use their style as a great reference. Rairi's blog includes the names of the brands she wears, so there are all kinds of discoveries to be made!

Sakurai: I can't believe you're watching me so much. It's very motivating!

Do group members talk about fashion or exchange information with each other?

Sakurai: There is no mornings at all. Each member's favorite style is too different. Everyone wears something that fits their character.

Ise: I do a lot of shopping at Angeleum. Recently, chou chou items became popular among the members, and I went to buy them because they were from "BEAMS". I often use BEAMS when I prepare my own costumes.

Nishida: With BEYOOOOONDS, Miho Hirai would give the members clothes and cosmetics. She would give them to me as gifts, saying, "I bought it for myself, but I think it would probably look better on you. Also, BEYOOOOONDS has a culture of giving compliments. Whenever I wear a new outfit to a site, the members always notice and compliment me by saying, "You look cute," or "That looks good on you. It makes me happy and I enjoy choosing clothes. The members praise and support each other, and we live our lives by raising our self-esteem (laughs).

So it totally differs from group to group. Finally, please tell us what you feel about men's clothing and any changes in your impressions.

Sakurai: Recently, tight-fitting women's clothes have become popular, so I thought it would be interesting to make a difference in styling if I could give a masculine touch to the clothes through the size. I think it takes a lot of courage for a woman to go into a men's store alone to choose clothes, but I learned the joy of wearing men's clothes today, so I will try to have the courage to go in there in the future!

Ise: I had the impression that men's clothing = American casual, and at first I thought it would be difficult for women to wear, but I was surprised to find that it can be worn all over. I thought I would actively try to incorporate it in the future and would like to see other members wearing it!

Nishida: I thought it would be a challenge for women to wear men's clothes. However, I realized that there are advantages such as making a woman look slender because of her large size. When I think about it, men's clothes may be easier to wear than I thought. Men's clothing is the first step to becoming fashionable!
