Species other than sea bass also appeared!
The time settles down, and we move to a new point. Realizing the high potential of the "set upper," we continue to cast. It is quiet on the boat for a while, but then a series of fish start to appear again. First, Komatsu.

Komatsu: Another "set-up"! I had a hiccup when it washed up on my gills, but I managed to catch it. I'm happy to have a beautiful one.
Next is Mr. Ichikawa. It is a good size. His hit lure was the "Moazan Real Spin.

Ichikawa: I didn't get any bites on the surface, so I used "Moazan Real Spin" to sink a little, but there was no reaction. I tried reeling the surface layer quickly again, and it bit.
And Ikemoto!

Ikemoto: I caught fish on the other "set upper" I purchased yesterday and successfully achieved my goal. My favorite lure has increased.
On the other hand, Ishii, who has been steadily catching fish for bass fishing, is still not feeling the response on this day, and looks anxious.

Ishii: Everyone was catching fish in rapid succession, and it was a good atmosphere, but I couldn't ride the wave. I got impatient and am in a negative spiral. ......
After that, the bites stopped all together, and we moved to a new point again. We try different lures to catch various species of fish.

Ichikawa: Salt fishing is very different from bass fishing. It is interesting to search for the depth where the fish are. It is difficult to find the right answer, though.
Ishii: I'm not fishing, so I feel like everyone should catch various species of fish at the earliest opportunity (laughs). I am simply soothed by the exhilaration of casting and the scenery (laughs).

Murata: Since I usually fish mainly on land, it feels good to cast on the boat and I enjoy the high possibility of catching fish.
Then, perhaps Ishii's wish came true, and he began to catch more than just sea bass. Ikemoto had two consecutive catches!

This little guy is a sea bass. It is often disliked by anglers because it bites at everything and tears lures to shreds with its sharp teeth, but it is a high-grade ingredient in fish cake.

This is a very expensive fish, tiger puffer. If you have a cooking license, you can process and eat it. ...... Unfortunately, it is out of the way this time.

Mr. Tanaka, a Daiwa PR representative, caught a high-end Japanese sea bass! Since it mainly lives in the reef zone, it is a rare fish that is hard to find.
We decided to change things up a bit and try targeting flatfish and maggot standing on the seafloor. We landed the lure on the bottom and used a lift-and-fall technique to lure the fish. However, it is difficult to match a flatfish with a lure. But Mr. Tanaka, as expected of him, showed us his charm once again. It was a maggot!

After a while, Ikemoto's rod responded. Another sea bass was caught!

Komatsu is also riding that momentum!

And so the time was up. Although we did not have a great catch, we were able to enjoy the fishing without losing our concentration even during the time when we could not catch fish!
Ishii: Anyway, we threw and reeled and threw and reeled. As a result, we didn't catch any fish, but it was nice to be in the winter sea, and everyone caught fish, so let's be happy.

Murata: I had some regrets that I lost the fish on landing, but I enjoyed it. I think I was able to overcome my dislike of minnows by fishing with "set-uppers. I was allowed to use the "SWAGGER" for the first time, and it was very sensitive and easy to handle.
Ichikawa: The "SWAGGER" was easy to throw, even with a pack rod, and had a nice bend to it. I was satisfied with the pleasant fishing. However, I would have liked to catch other species of fish.

Ikemoto: It was a satisfying fishing trip, having accomplished a personal goal. I have a number of lures, both salt and bass, that I have yet to catch.
Komatsu: It was my first boat sea bass in a long time, and I enjoyed it too much. I am happy that I was able to beat my personal best for sea bass. I wanted to catch Spanish mackerel, but we'll see next time.
