A relationship where we can naturally grow together.

-Do you find it difficult to collaborate with creators who are completely different from each other?
Suenan: There is nothing like that. Rather, Hizume-kun's involvement makes me work hard. If I had to say so, I would say that I want to give him materials such as fabrics and accessories as soon as possible. I want to give him as much time as possible for his creations.
Day nails: Hiro-san is the type of person who keeps to a schedule, but I am not (laughs). We share the same passion, but I think our personalities are completely different. I don't feel that creation is difficult. With Kiddyl, the first collaboration went well, so I knew intuitively that it would continue to go well. If a collaboration doesn't go well the first time, it won't work no matter how hard you try.

Suenan: Also, if we have the same approach to manufacturing, we can work well together. I think there are two types of designers. There are those who love what they make, and those who make things for themselves as designers. We are the former type, and the items we make are important to us.
Day nails: When opposites mix, something new is born. I always want to break things down. I think the collaboration with "Kiddyl" is interesting because it is the opposite of what I usually see.
-Is there anything you would like to try in future collaborations?
Suenan: I would like to do something in a slightly deliberately bad direction that is usually considered a no-no in clothing. For example, a hat might be considered to have a hard brim, but I would like to see a soft, slouchy brim with a drape to it. I want to break the rules and create something new. I also think that sharing keywords might improve accuracy.
Day nails: I simply want to make more and more versions. My company is called "JBK," which is an acronym for "hat project for mankind.

Suenan: You mentioned it in "Jounetsu Tairiku". It's amazing how many times I've heard that plan.
Day nails: If I had not collaborated with "Kiddil," I don't think this "JBK" would have ever reached the fan base of "Kiddil. It is so much fun to be able to invade a place that I could never reach with my own brand.
I would like to expand "JBK" by simply doing more and more. The more collaborations I do, the more I develop my own image of "Kiddyl," and it is very enjoyable to be able to look at my creations objectively through a completely different channel than I normally do.
-You have a lot of trust in each other. It's a good relationship.
Suenan: I think collaboration is one of those points. If one party relies on the other, the relationship will not work.
Day nails: You can tell when you first do it. The feeling between the lines between words, and whether or not we can see each other's values. If you can't see it, it doesn't matter how many words you put on top of each other.

Suenan: I think it is the same with the relationship between people who work together, even if the brands do not work together. It is a collaboration between different individuals. I think it is important to meet people who are on the same level as you. Or the level of passion.
Day nails: In fact, I think it is best to work with people who are willing to break down their own creations. It's hard at first, but once you get it right, you can grow together through synergy. You get to see a world that you don't see yourself. I think that is the best part.
