They can convey the appeal of their products in their own words.
Do you have any products that are exclusive to this store?
Kojima: Since we can communicate directly with customers now that we have a store, we have prepared clothes that are a bit challenging. It would be an exaggeration to call them experimental, but they have a special texture or are processed in such a way as to create individual differences. We hope to explain these products and the background behind their creation directly to customers.

Sheep Suede Take Easy Jacket ¥165,000
Kojima: For example, the leather jacket we made this time is a product-dyed leather jacket, which is one of the items I have wanted to make for a long time. It is one of the items I have wanted to make for a long time. It is a shrunken and wrinkled jacket that you would find in a corner of a second-hand clothing store. We had to convey our thoughts and feelings about this kind of item in order for people to pick it up.
You said that you would develop aggressive items that only Mr. Kojima could make.

Unlined KS Trainer ¥33,000
Kojima: For example, these shoes are a collaboration with "Reproduction of Found," and the German trainers are unified in one tone. We also adjusted the pattern of the upper and made it unlined, in other words. By eliminating the lining, you can directly enjoy the charm of fine leather, and the fitting is increased, making them lighter and easier to wear. We want you to wear them one size up and tighten them. The concept is sneakers that can be worn like leather shoes. However, it is difficult to convey that kind of attention to detail.
I think that a directly managed store can communicate this directly to customers.
Kojima: That's right. I like things that are hard to convey in that sense, so I am very happy to be able to convey the appeal of my products in my own words. Most of the clothes I make are authentic, but the way I spice them up is moving in a more and more maniacal direction. That is why it is important for me to convey the background of my work.
On the other hand, are these T-shirts also exclusive to the flagship store?

Tube Tee Light Jazz Man by Yusuke Hanai ¥14,300 each
Kojima: This is a print of an illustration of a jazz musician drawn by artist Yusuke Hanai.
It's rare for Captain Sunshine to make printed T-shirts, isn't it?
Kojima: There was a manufacturer called "Gear Inc." that released printed T-shirts of jazz musicians in the 80s and 90s. I liked them and had a collection of them. About two years ago, I mentioned this to Mr. Hanai, and he got on board. I asked him, "When our store opens, would you paint this as a motif? He immediately said yes. The paintings are of Chet Baker, Charles Mingus, and John Coltrane, all selected by him.

Denim Tracker 1P Jacket Mini" ¥27,500 yen, "5P Zipper Front Denim Pants Mini" ¥20,900 yen
Kojima: I also made this kids' item. It was inspired by a vintage salesman's sample. It is an item for children, but it has been made in great detail, and it tickles the hearts of adults as well.
