How was your first time trail running?
What were the three runners' impressions of The North Face's latest rental service? And what did Okamura-san and Homo-san think and feel through their first trail running experience? We asked them.

Both shoes and backpacks are highly functional.

I had an image that trail running was difficult, but when I actually tried it, it was a lot of fun! My legs went more smoothly than I expected, and I was able to recover my energy by taking breaks along the way. The exhilaration of the downhill run was especially special. It was fun to run while thinking about how my feet would land on the terrain. This was the first time for me to wear trail running shoes, but they were very stable and I felt comfortable both on the climbs and descents. I was particularly impressed with the grip of the sole. The backpack was surprisingly lightweight and fit perfectly, just like a piece of clothing. It didn't get in the way while running at all, and I really felt that it was functionally designed. The easy rental service is also a plus. It is good to be able to check the comfort and fit in the field beforehand, even when actually purchasing.

It may be similar to the feeling of renting a board for snowboarding.

I was anxious before today. I wondered if I would be able to run 9 kilometers in the mountains. But my fears were unfounded. When I actually started running, the scenery was beautiful and pleasant, and I enjoyed it more than I had expected. I was surprised at how light my first pair of trail running shoes were. They fit well and I was able to move my feet as I wanted, so I never felt unstable while running. The backpacks were well thought out, with the ability to retrieve luggage while running and the ability to prevent swaying. The rental service is also good. I like snowboarding, and I rent snowboards every time I go out, so I guess it is similar to the way I feel. Through today's experience, I am suddenly interested in trail running. I want to try racing one of these days!" (Sagiri Homo)

Rental service, great. Hope this culture will spread more!

I was looking forward to trying out the latest trail shoes from The North Face. I wore the Summit Vective Pro 3. I wore the "Summit Vectiv Pro 3. Frankly speaking, this is a "super shoe" in trail running. The thickness of the midsole and cushioning felt like a top road shoe. The backpack is also easy to use. The pockets are well designed and I was able to get what I needed while running. The rental service is also excellent. It is very reasonable to be able to try out the car in the field before purchasing. In our generation, there was a sense of value that owning a car was a prerequisite for being on one's own, but now it is more convenient to use a car share or rental car, isn't it? I think trail running item rental services are also in line with these values. It means you don't have to have everything you need from the start. I hope this culture will spread more widely.
