What if that artist paints Disney characters? An exhibition is now being held at the gallery in Miyashita Park. It's going on until the end of this week!

Did you know that "MICKEY & FRIENDS WITH YOU @ SHIBUYA" is currently being held in Shibuya, where Mickey Mouse is decorating the streets of Shibuya?

This project is a large-scale global campaign launched in preparation for the 100th anniversary of Mickey Mouse's screen debut in 2028. Among the events being held as part of the project, Huinamu is focusing on this exhibition.

As some of you may have already visited, seven artists from "GALLERY TARGET" in Harajuku are exhibiting their works at "RAYARD MIYASHITA PARK" in Shibuya, Tokyo until September 14 (Sun.). The exhibition will be held at "RAYARD MIYASHITA PARK" in Shibuya, Tokyo.

At the exhibition, you can see works of Disney characters drawn by CONIX, FACE OKA, hi-dutch, Koichiro Takagi, KYNE, NAIJEL GRAPH, and Yusuke Hanai. Let's check out some of them, along with comments received from each artist.

Yusuke Hanai

Mickey Mouse is the most famous character in the world. He is the perfect leader loved by everyone. But there are no perfect heroes in my works. Everyone has quirks and flaws. I believe that "Mickey Mouse," the leader of my club, will still be loved by everyone.

NAIJEL GRAPH

Even if we look different or the same, we can be friends if we open our hearts. If you believe in yourself, believe in your friends, and have a little courage to take the first step, there is surely a wonderful world waiting for you ahead. Life may be a big adventure that we continue to walk while supporting and laughing with our friends.

KYNE

Rather than directly reproducing the iconic Disney character "Mickey Mouse," the artist depicted him through the "medium" of a stuffed animal. By capturing it from a still-life perspective, I expressed "Mickey Mouse" as an icon with a new sense of distance.

Koichiro Takagi

Bambi, Tonsuke, and Flower are joined by a blue bird. It is fun to make new friends in a new environment, and it is the beginning of a friendship that will last forever.

About 20 years ago, when I started to create works in my current style using wool yarn, I suddenly had the idea of presenting works with a border pattern based on the silhouettes of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and other Disney characters that came to mind, using my original colors. Would this border pattern be officially approved? I was very nervous, but I am very happy to be able to present it.

FACE OKA

I watched Disney cartoons so much in my childhood that I wore out my videotapes. I created this work based on my memories. I incorporated the "pink cloth" series, which is one of my styles.

CONIX

I created this work on the theme of Disney princess movies that I loved and watched often as a child. Among them, "Disney's Sleeping Beauty" was the first Disney VHS I was given, and I remember watching it repeatedly when I was a child. I have always loved the "life" and "signs of life" in the stories, and this time, instead of depicting the princesses in dresses, I depicted them in natural clothes, like everyday wear.
