The series focuses on Sakamoto, a designer at Ramroof who travels back and forth between African countries and Japan, and we are bringing you as realistic a picture as possible of his life in Africa. This year I went on an overseas business trip for the first time. The country was Thailand. Between you and me, I was in a buoyant mood before I went and crammed three interviews/shootings into my six-day stay, and I resented myself when I got there. But thanks to that, I was able to produce articles that I feel as attached to as if they were my own children. One of the cutest is this project. We asked people in Thailand to carry Outdoor Products bags and we did a snap-style fashion shoot. To our surprise, everyone we approached agreed to participate in the shoot, and we felt firsthand that Thailand is the land of smiles. My memorable first business trip after becoming a member of society was to a running camp. I visited the Tateshina Tokyu Hotel, which is nestled in a forest at an altitude of 1,300 meters. To my surprise, there is a trailhead on the premises. We could go to the mountain right away and take a hot spring bath right after descending the mountain. It is a heavenly environment for trail runners. Many of the trendy hotels these days are sleek and smooth, so it was refreshing and exciting to stay in a classic hotel with a sense of dignity.
