Mr. Kinji Teramoto of “ANATOMICA” is a one-of-a-kind collector and designer who has continued to explore the essence of authenticity while collecting vintage items, folk art, and crafts from around the world.
An event titled “Kinoji Teramoto and Japanese Handicrafts,” which focuses on folk art, will be held at “Anatomica Tokyo.”
Clothing, furniture, tableware, and baskets are all tools used in people’s daily lives. They possess a beauty and necessity that can only be found in things that transcend trends and efficiency.
In this exhibition, we will introduce handicrafts from various regions of Japan that resonate with Mr. Teramoto.
Furniture from Ishinomaki Kobo, founded in Ishinomaki after the Great East Japan Earthquake
Miyamoto Kogei’s wild grape baskets, crafted using the bountiful natural resources of Aomori and passed down through generations
Vases and planters by Michikazu Sakai and Tomoko Sakai, who continue to create pottery in Kagawa Prefecture.
In addition, we will be showcasing the Made in Japan denim that symbolizes “Anatomica.”
Ingredients nurtured by the local climate and terrain, techniques honed over time, and wisdom passed down through generations as part of daily life.
This exhibition wraps all of these elements in the respect and affection for objects that “Anatomica” embodies. If you’re feeling worn out by the relentless pace of trends, please be sure to stop by.
