The fashion industry is one that is subject to rigorous scrutiny regarding its environmental considerations and practices.
〈Prada (PRADA)〉, known for its “Re-Nylon”—a material created from nylon waste generated before manufacturing and after use—is highly conscious of this trend.
In this article, we’d like to introduce “Re-Cashmere & Re-Wool,” our initiative for responsible material sourcing that aims to reduce environmental impact through the use of two materials: wool and cashmere.
We collect and sort cutting scraps, spinning residues, and surplus materials generated during the production process, and transform them into high-quality recycled raw materials, thereby returning them to the production cycle.
"Re-Cashmere & Re-Wool" is a groundbreaking initiative that extends the circular approach demonstrated by "Re-Nylon" to natural fibers, and is one of the initiatives formulated by the Prada Group in 2023 to transition its key raw materials to those with a lower environmental impact.
Every product comes with a tag, and through our digital platform, you can trace the product’s journey—from the origin of the fibers used in the product and the suppliers, to the country where the materials were processed, and all subsequent production steps.
Isn't this a truly valuable endeavor that allows us to feel how clothing production is steadily evolving and moving forward?
