The X-90 is a new form of shoe that combines New Balance innovation with classic style, inspired by the '90s, which produced many groundbreaking products in its 112-year history, and the brand's flagship models in the 99X series, including the 990 and 993. Inspired by the 90s and the brand's flagship models such as the 990 and 993.
The "X" in "X-90" is named after the "X" in the "NBX" series, which was created in 1989 as a lightweight performance collection, and the size "XL" which represents the volume of the shoes.

The upper is a fusion of the 990V2, 991, 992, and 993 designs. It features the classic small "N" logo and asymmetrical colored strap construction. The sole is a new midsole with excellent cushioning and stability, volume and impact. It blends the unique lines of the "990V3" midsole, the ABZORB sole of the "991" and the three-dimensionality of the "992".
