Danish designer,Werner PantonThis season, we have revived the archives ofDRIES VAN NOTENThe base of the "M" was genuine workwear.
Coats, blousons, shirts, or all-in-ones. Doris's design work, which embodies functional beauty and is stripped down to the bare essentials, is made possible by her daily contact with the earth.
As revealed in the documentary "Dries Van Noten: A Man Who Loves Fabrics and Flowers," which premiered in 2018 and has been making headlines, Dries lives in an old-fashioned house on the outskirts of Antwerp. She loves to spend time planting flowers and tending her garden.
Doris has taken these stoic workwear pieces and given them earth colors that seem to pay homage to the earth. Vividly colored flowers are enhanced by the canvas of the earth. It could not have been a better choice to match the pop colors and patterns left behind by Pantone.
There was also workwear dyed with old rose and oak picked up from the Pantone archives, and the full-body mid-century styling was not bad at all.
