HMV Record Shop Shibuya has started pre-ordering goods to celebrate its 6th anniversary. The annual illustrations by Ran Tondabayashi are gutsy.

In recent years, the most popular way to enjoy music is through subscriptions such as Apple Music and Spotify. However, contrary to the trend of the times, the demand for vinyl records and cassettes has been increasing little by little, especially among the younger generation.

In particular, records became popular due to their shape and sound quality, and the number of record pressing companies, which at one time was said to be only one "Toyo Kasei" in Japan, seems to have increased a little.

In August 2014, when the winds of the times were still blowing slightly, a major CD store, "HMVis HMV record store Shibuya (HMV record store Shibuya), a specialty store focusing on vinyl records.

The history of HMV Record Shop, which started with one store and handles both used and new records, has now grown to include stores in Shinjuku Alta and Coppis Kichijoji. The store, which has been energizing the record industry by hosting live performances and DJ events, releases anniversary items every year in August.

This year, the 6th anniversary of the brand, as usual, limited items are going on sale. In recent years, we have begun taking reservations for collaborative items created in collaboration with popular artist Ran Tondabayashi, who is especially known for his artwork for Aimyon.

Two types of T-shirts will be available: a T-shirt printed with the illustration and available in four sizes from S to XL, and a slipmat to be placed on top of the turntable.

The theme of the illustration by Ms. Hayashi Tonda, who has also appeared in HOUYHNHNM's, was "HOME GIRL.
