The art scene has been in the news recently, and "DEBUT," a solo exhibition by TIDE, aka IDETATSUHIRO, will be held at the Harajuku gallery "GALLERY COMMON" from October 2 (Fri.).
This is the first exhibition after the name change. While pushing the feline character to the forefront, the work is composed of two-dimensional "living things" and three-dimensional "objects" on the screen. The black-and-white world created by various painting techniques, such as beautiful outlines drawn in one stroke and textured paintings using spray paint, is layered and has depth, creating a fantastic landscape where the real and virtual coexist.
In addition to all-new canvas works, including size 150, he will also exhibit and sell his first ceramic multiple works.

TIDE
Born in 1984, he was inspired by a Shigeru Mizuki manga he read while living in Australia, and began his career as a Tokyo-based painter in 2009. Currently, he produces and exhibits mainly the "CAT" series, in which monochrome images of cats as motifs of characters and rooms are depicted on canvas. In April of this year, he participated in a group show at RAMP gallery in London, where he collaborated with George Condo and Aaron Johnson. He has exhibitions coming up in New York and London, and is drawing a great deal of attention in the contemporary art scene both in Japan and abroad.
