Soki Tanaka is a popular illustrator whose lovable character designs are so charming that once you see them, your cheeks will involuntarily loosen. His first full-scale solo exhibition "Neko 88" will be held at the art gallery "CLASS" located near Cat Street in Shibuya from December 11 (Fri.) to 17 (Thu.).
As the name suggests, the theme is "cats. This time, however, he will be taking on the challenge of creating a three-dimensional representation of cats, and will be exhibiting a total of 88 cats in the motif of "beckoning cats. Each cat has its own name, personality, and special blessing.
Ten artists who are related to Mr. Soki Tanaka will also participate in the exhibition as guests. The exhibition will feature original works by Hisayuki Hiranuma, Lee Izumida, AICON, and other artists who are currently the focus of attention, and whose works can only be seen in this exhibition.
. after all, it is a solo exhibition full of highlights. , and we hope you will visit the exhibition to find your favorite one among the 88 cats gathered on Cat Street.
. I will conclude with a comment from Mr. Soki Tanaka.
. 88 cats will be lined up in a row on Cat Street.
I was recently praised again for my work "Elephant Parade" from when I was in London, and I began to wonder what would happen if I were to create a three-dimensional work now, as a challenge to myself.
. we had fun making it, lining up the many cats we had completed and having our two cats (the real ones) knock it over.
In this age of convenience when anyone can easily view artworks on social networking sites, we want people to experience a relaxing space surrounded by many cats in a real venue.
With the help of some of my favorite artists as guests, we now have 88 friends. Each has a name, a personality, and a blessing.
Come and find the one you like.
