Many people may think of "Irish Setter" or "Beckman" boots when they think of "RED WING," but "Postman" is a classic that should not be forgotten.
The birth of the product was in 1954, and its initial release was for police officers, postal workers, and station employees. Later, they were adopted by the "USPS (U.S. Postal Service)," and mail carriers across the U.S. began wearing them, leading to the nickname "Postman.
BEAMS" has added a new look to the classic "Postman" of yesteryear, and a special-order version has been completed.
Postman Oxford GORE-TEX ¥48,400
The most important point of this work is the upper material. Usually, it is glass leather with a glossy feel, but suede leather was adopted here. It gives a more subdued impression, and the elegance of an adult is wafting through the air.
Moreover, the special suede conforms to Gore-Tex standards, making it an all-weather shoe that can be worn regardless of weather conditions. The shoe has been given a modern update without erasing the true appeal of work shoes.
The insole is made of Thinsulate, a heat-insulating material, and low-resilience polyurethane Polon, a highly cushioned material that provides a comfortable fit.
The flat crepe sole, familiar to "Postman," is lightweight and grippy, and the entire sole supports the foot for a stable gait.
Incidentally, the reason why this flat outsole was adopted was to prevent the grass at the delivery destination from being disturbed. This pair is the culmination of consideration for mail carriers and the people around them.
It will be available at all BEAMS stores and the official online store from May 15 (Sat).
