Improvise (improvise), Scavenge (thoroughly utilize materials), Protect (protect), and Adapt (apply). Based on these four keywords, NIKE's "ISPA" has produced a number of experimental products.
A one-of-a-kind indigo-dyed model is now available from ISPA Drifter, whose design source is the traditional Japanese Tabi Shoes. It will be available exclusively in Japan.
Indigo color ¥60,500
The ISPA Drifter, first introduced in 2020, was created with the themes of innovation, traditionalism, and craftsmanship.
In addition to the striking silhouette with an independent thumb, the upper combines different materials such as suede and hemp. The midsole is equipped with the Nike Zoom X Foam, which boasts the highest functionality, creating a unique and functional shoe.
Such "ISPA Drifter" was finished in indigo color by "BUAISOU," an indigo master and dyer in Tokushima who handles the entire process from indigo cultivation to dyeing.
Since each item is dyed by hand, each has a different shade of indigo, giving it a unique texture that cannot be achieved with man-made products.
Natural color ¥24,200
In addition, a natural color that dares to use the color of the material as it is is also available. Even the parts that do not usually appear on the surface are exposed, giving the pair a prototype-like atmosphere.
The Japan-exclusive indigo color will go on sale on Tuesday, August 31, and the natural color on Wednesday, September 15. They will be available at NIKELAB MA5, Dover Street Market GINZA, and select stores.
