The Camp" FREAK'S STORE, now called "The Camp" FREAK'S STORE, has undergone a renewal, packed with the culture and trends it has cultivated over the years. One year has passed since the first day of its successful opening, and we visited the store again.
We now bring you what has changed and what has remained the same since the initial reopening.
I visited on Sunday, September 18, exactly one year and one week after its opening, during the first anniversary celebration event, and although it was a little after noon and things had calmed down a bit, the place was still quite busy.
I thought, "But they have the same number of customers on regular holidays as well. I am amazed.
Although people from all walks of life stop by here on their way to and from camping, or just for a day of fun as a recreational spot, many people are repeat visitors.
Perhaps that is why they hold small events such as pop-ups and special stalls every week. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like, "If I go there, there's some fun experience waiting for me."
This year's festival was several times more extravagant than usual, as it was the first anniversary of the event. Kitchen cars lined up outside. Some were local stores from Furukawa City, some from other prefectures, and many people and cultures intersected.
The most eye-catching of all were the skater kids. The sight of them boldly taking on challenges under the palm trees with the guidance of professional skaters was the very essence of American culture.
Inside the store, there are outdoor and apparel zones that allow customers to move seamlessly between the two. The product lineup, which incorporates various essences, has remained unchanged since the store's opening, while maintaining the "Freaks Store's" intention of "conveying the richness of America.

With the compact and comfortable outdoor style of overnight travel in a car at its core, the many items that retain the cuteness that only an apparel brand can offer are all things that are in demand in the world today.
It is surprising that they have made not only seat covers, chair cushions, and other accessories, but also tents!
In the apparel zone, amidst the rows of vintage clothing, there are also trendy sauna goods. It's a cool mix of the old and the new and the cool, and yet this is cool. Hats off to the competence of "Freaks Store" seen in some places.
In the back of the store, an artistic event was also held. The house brand "Freada" welcomed artist Lee Izumida to paint on vintage tote bags purchased from the United States. Parents, children, and women were seen excitedly participating in the event.
The director, Mr. Ogasawara, is probably responsible for the brand image of "Frida," which retains the "Freaks Store" spirit but is not too rugged, as seen in this event and the items produced.
The outdoor zone, or "Orange," is a jumbled display that makes the enthusiast's soul tingle. The first anniversary package of metallic "horinishi" shines brightly as soon as you enter the store.
The campers were in the mood to hunt for treasures as they browsed through a collection of camping gear that is hard to find anywhere else.
Upstairs, furniture and sundry goods are lined up in a slightly spacious area. Beyond what you wear and play with, you can count on the shop to take care of your home as well.
The Camp" FREAK'S STORE was not just a place to sell things, but also a place to play. It is likely to continue as a place for people to relax. I would like to go back next weekend, not just to see how things are going next year...!
