The event will be held at Shibuya Parco, where bento is more than just a lunch box . From professional tips on how to pack a bento to bento playlists, let's dive into the universe of bento.

Are you eating bento, everyone? Do you make it?

On the bullet train, during a lunch break at school or work, or on an outdoor picnic . Bento is a part of Japanese people's daily lives and has a slightly different appeal from everyday meals, doesn't it? Two groups of people have decided to create an opportunity to think about "obento" in a deeper way.

This project explores the creativity behind food and communication around the dining table.Hearth Kitchen." and "The newest and most up-to-date content in all genres.Shibuya Parco".

The two parties have joined hands to launch a new project called "Bento Experiment" . This is an exploration of all the possibilities of bento, consisting of a workshop on packing bento dishes, an interview (Zine) and questionnaire (available on the official Instagram) about bento, and a talk (podcast) about bento.

As a first step, a workshop (reservations required) on packing bento dishes will be held on Sunday, October 17 at ROOFTOP PARK (10F) in Shibuya Parco.

Taichi Hara (Owner chef of "Bistro Rojiura", "Path" and "LIKE")

Leading the way for the bewildered bento beginner will be Chiori Yamamoto, chef of "Thioben," which has gained popularity for its unexpected and colorful bento combinations. Based on her tips and hints on how to pack the bento, participants will be able to experience making their own bento together with Taichi Hara.

zine

There will be plenty of other content as well.

There will be a talk show by Mr. Hara, who tackled bento making head-on for the first time, and a lunch box set that includes Mr. Hara's original bento made with vegetables from Yoshino Herb Farm in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, a zine written especially for this project, and an introduction to the vegetables (first-come, first-served, 20-serving limit).

And the table decorations at the venue will be done by floral artist Alexander Julian, who will use the vegetables used in the bento boxes to create beautiful decorations that will add to the feeling. Please also listen to the music at the venue. A "playlist to listen to when packing your bento" by "Artist Food Festival a.k.a Foodman" will be available as background music (also available on Spotify).

The event is full of vitality just by typing ....... . There have not been so many events in recent years that have been so thoughtful and creative. This is probably due to the strong partnership between "Hearth Kitchen" and "Shibuya Parco".

Bento boxes, with their small compartments filled to the brim with side dishes, tell a variety of stories, depending on who makes them and who eats them.

We invite you to participate in the "Bento Experiment," a project that will allow you to enjoy the endless possibilities of the bento, which is like a microcosm, from a variety of different perspectives. We are sure that you will want to dive into the dazzling world of bento.
