【FOCUS IT.] Clothes with margins where the wearer stands in front. ILEVE has started men's wear.

In recent years, it seems that more and more people have decided on the correct fashion item by item, such as XX coat, XX shirt, and so on, and consume them symbolically and instantly. Of course, this has led to the creation of items that have become masterpieces, but it is not the only way to enjoy clothing.

A brand that started as a women's wear brand in the spring/summer of 2018.YLÈVEIt is.

Until now, with the exception of the collaboration with "Reshop," only women's wear has been available, but with the expectation of men and buyers in the industry, men's wear will also begin in the spring/summer of 2022.

According to designer Reiko Taguchi, "Clothes with blank spaces" are clothes that "let the wearer's individuality stand out and do not choose what brand or what to wear with them, but leave a blank space.

The simple and gentle designs based on craftsmanship are not intrusive and do not insist on the individuality of the clothing, but rather accept the individuality of the wearer. The items can be broadly divided into four elements that make up the brand.

. There are four broad components. For example, we have what we call the season, which is women's wear that reflects the current mood of the season. Then there are tailoring, work, and basics, each of which is based on a different pattern and factory background.

As you can see in the "MATERIAL" section on our website, materials are an important part of our brand. The brand develops and uses imported fabrics, and this is at the heart of its manufacturing process.

Each piece is made of natural materials and has many nuanced colors. The color palette is unique, with, in Taguchi's words, "ambiguous colors, like gray, blue, khaki, or gray.

This season, overdyeing is a key expression, and we have created a color called butter. Many of the items we made were created to try a new approach to the way yarn-dyed colors appear. Our design approach is to keep a middle ground. I want to make casual items beautiful and hard items a little softer. In this way, I try to strike a balance and create a tone when viewed as a whole.

This is how ILEVE's clothes have been made. The men's line has officially debuted, but in a positive sense, the design has not changed much from the past. This is because we had many customers who saw the women's wear and wanted it as it is. Although the patterns are made separately, the same materials are used.

As a result, the suit set-up is light and can be worn casually rather than as a dress, even though it has a woolen core. Taguchi says, "I don't feel like I'm creating with a feminine sensibility," but there is a softness to her work that men's designers do not have, and there is a sense of beauty about it.

There used to be a division between dress and casual wear, but recently it seems to be melting away. It's the same with the way people wear clothes, and men are buying women's clothes, so I feel that the boundaries between clothes are dissolving. However, I myself also wear secondhand clothes, but I don't think I am expected to unravel the secrets of those clothes. It may be a small accumulation of smells that I sublimate and design in my own way.

Rather than having a major theme for the future, they would like to continue to create real clothes that reflect the mood of each year. Fall and winter are still a ways off, but traditional but relaxed items are likely to appear.

This is the debut season for men's wear, and it appears to be available at more than a dozen stores, including "THE LIBRARY," "URBAN RESEARCH," "TF," and "BLOOM & BRANCH. Why not check it out first?
