Ajipon ART PROJECT" started in May. Produced by BEAMS T, the project aims to shed light on the "happiness within a meter radius" that we tend to take for granted and lose sight of through the power of art.
One of the T-shirts created was a collaborative T-shirt with TACOMA FUJI RECORDS. Three Nagoya-based artists designed the T-shirts and sublimated "Ajipon" into art.
Participating artists are,Kotaro Imoto of Tumbleweed, an alternative plant store, ,MOOLA of the Thai curry diner "Yanggao"., ,Hiroki Niwa of Kakuozan Larder, a hamburger and art store. The three designers are active as designers and also run their own stores.
Harvest for CSSS designed by Kotaro Imoto ¥6,600
CSSS live in Bangkok designed by MOOLA ¥6,600
CSSS is LIQUID MANNER designed by Hiroki Niwa ¥6,600
The T-shirts were directed by Tomoo Watanabe, the owner of "Tacomahuji Records. At first glance, the design is unrecognizable as "Ajipon," but this is because it is based on a fictional story, a specialty of "Tacomafuji Records.
It's a long story, so I won't go into it here, but it is the reason why the "Ajipon" T-shirts that fit into our daily lives were completed.
B CULTURES, the culture media of BEAMS, published an article in which Watanabe visited the three artists and unraveled the story behind their production. After reading this, you will see the T-shirt in a different light, so please check it out.
This collection is now on sale at the official online store of BEAMS and at BEAMS T Harajuku.
