Style as a running community.
Case 02. Trailing Running Club

Community has become one of the important keywords in the running scene in recent years. Communication is motivating, diverse information is actively shared, and it is creating a new movement in running, which tends to be stoic. We asked key members of this high-profile community to try on the latest HOKA models. How does this affect their style? We will explore the relationship between community, style, and running gear in two installments, one for the trail and one for the road, from the perspectives of each. In this installment, which focuses on the road, the "Trailing Running Club" is featured. In what ways do they resonate with the latest racing shoe, the Rocket X 3?

How to choose shoes to achieve your goals.

-What goals do you all have?

Kitamura: I am aiming for sub-3 in a full marathon. I have only run half marathons, so my goal is high, but I want to train hard and achieve it.

Public: I don't have a clear goal, but I want to continue running without quitting. There was a period after I graduated from high school when I did not run, and my mental and physical condition was not good for a long time. However, when I started running again at training sessions, I naturally recovered, and my connections with other people expanded, and I realized once again how important running is to me. Now I am about to graduate from college and start working, but my goal is to continue running even if it is only for 30 minutes a day, even if I get busy.

Shimura: I'm a college student myself, so there are only a few more years left when I can spend plenty of time running. I love trails, so I want to achieve the best results I can.

Lazarus: I am a competitive walker and would like to break 3.5 hours for a full marathon with it. In the triathlon, my goal is to help many people achieve their goals as a pacer. I would be happy if I can contribute to breaking my personal best.

Masami: My goal is to bring smiles to people's faces through exercise, both as a trailing pacer and as a yoga instructor at work. I want to be like a supplement in everyone's life. I will do my best in everything I do.

Otani: My personal goal is to make the people in front of me happy. I want to do things that benefit the brands that sponsor our activities, and I want to do things that benefit the members who participate in our activities. And as for Trying, we would like to expand a little and do sustainable business.

-What are the points you usually emphasize in your running shoes?

Shimura: I am concerned about the softness of the midsole because I want to reduce the burden on my feet.

Kitamura: I am careful to match my running ability. If the shoes are too functional, I feel that my strength will be defeated by the shoes depending on the conditions at the time.

Lazarus: I run long distances, so I place importance on a comfortable fit, even in the second half of the run. Then there is the feeling of running. I like shoes with a firm ground feel, and I prefer to be able to feel the ground.

Public: Yes, it is. Fit and ground contact are important. I prefer shoes that allow me to feel the ground with the soles of my feet and get rebound from the ground.

Masami: I too like the fit and ground feel. I like the slightly hard sole.

Otani: I like a solid upper. While the thick-soled shoes that have become mainstream offer good cushioning, I sometimes feel insecure about their stability. However, if the upper is firm, the shakiness is eliminated, so I place importance on the construction of the upper.
