Mr. Takami Kato made his debut as a stylist at "Under the Sun," a hair salon in Ikejiri-Ohashi, in October. SUN, a hair salon in Ikejiri-Ohashi, Ikejiri-Ohashi. Mr. Kato, who often chooses casual but traditional clothes, chose the dark brown "No. LX906" loafers. We asked him to share his impressions of the shoes along with his memories of "HARUTA" loafers.
Mr. Kato, I understand that you recently made your debut as a stylist at "Under the Sun. Congratulations!
Kato:Thank you very much. Until now, I have been working as an assistant to improve customer satisfaction, but now I am allowed to take the initiative in creating hairstyles. Of course, I feel a greater sense of responsibility than ever before, but I am happy that my initial dream of becoming a hair stylist, "I want to create my own hair," has come true.
Do you usually come to work in the same style as today?
Kato:Yes, I do. I feel that traditional fashion, such as collars and slacks, suits me better than too casual clothes. I often choose relatively clean sneakers or leather shoes.
The loafers you wore this time are our standard loafers updated in oiled leather.
Kato:You wore them when you were a student. I was looking all over for a pair of these dark brown loafers when I was in high school. As I wore them down, they would get rough and the color would change, so I would put oil on them to bring out the luster (laughs). (Laughs.) At the time, I wore them with my own individuality.
I see...a memorable pair, isn't it? I have the impression that many of you wore them when you were students.
Kato:But recently, many people are wearing "HARUTA" shoes as a fashion statement. In particular, I think more and more people are wearing loafers and looking stylish.
What, in your opinion, is the unique appeal of "HARUTA" loafers?
Kato:Even though there are updates in materials, etc., it's nice that it's always been super basic as it always has been. It's not too strange. I think it is surprising that there are few products that are accepted by such a wide range of people, including at such a low price.
