Yoshinori came to Sugamo, where he used to live about seven years ago. Yoshinori: From the time I used to go here, I was allowed to leave my luggage in a place out of the way and take a long bath after a 40-minute run. It is a public bathhouse worth coming to, even if you have to stretch your legs a bit. It is also great to relax on the terrace after taking a bath.
After changing clothes, it was time to go. Yoshinori says she feels at home in Sugamo, where there are many grandpas and grandmothers, because it is easy to talk to anyone and that is similar to the atmosphere in her hometown. She seems to be enjoying the nostalgic scenery as she drives through the town with a light touch.
Yoshinori: My usual running routine was to run in any direction I wanted from "Inari Yu" and back. When I run, I can meet stores because of the downtown area. I was suffering from flat feet, but while running I found a shoe shop that specializes in flat feet and had insoles made.
Although he is now based in his hometown of Saku, his daily running routine remains the same. However, he says he still enjoys running in the natural surroundings.
Yoshinori: In my hometown, I especially like to run on cold mornings. The air is clean and the sensation of being cool on the surface but hot on the inside feels good, and running around the rice paddies for about an hour gives me a different feeling from running in Tokyo. The 300-meter straight path, with mountains on either side, is a great way to finish the run.
To run comfortably, it is essential to have running shoes that suit you. Yoshinori seems surprised at the comfort of the "CloudSwift 4" shoes that support his feet.
Yoshinori: I have a wide foot and a high instep, so it was difficult to find shoes that fit my feet. However, the "CloudSwift 4" has a knit upper that fits my foot like a shoe. They are also very lightweight. The cushioning is also very good, so I can run comfortably.
