It’s fine to use your smartphone while riding the train or bus, but as an editor, you’ll want to read a book to gain new insights. Since trains and buses in Tokyo tend to be crowded, it’s good manners to quickly pull out your portable charger and charge your device discreetly so as not to disturb others. Plus, it’s not uncommon to be asked, “Can I borrow your charger?” during meetings with senior colleagues or creators, so being able to pull it out quickly anytime, anywhere should help you come across as a “capable editor.” Just make sure your power bank isn’t dead itself!
