Fuinam: The third pair is the “GEL-KAYANO 14.” It’s a model you simply can’t leave out when discussing “ASICS Sports Style.”
Okajima: That was one of the factors that led to the widespread acceptance of “ASICS Sports Style.” My impression is that it first gained popularity overseas and then spread to Japan as a sort of “re-import.”

Fuinam: It’s had staying power, hasn’t it? While many models see their popularity fade once they become a trend, the “GEL-KAYANO 14” has remained popular over time.
Okajima: It really feels like it's become a classic staple. It's a model you can't go wrong with—you should definitely have at least one pair.
Fukuda: They’re really comfortable to wear, aren’t they? You don’t get tired even after wearing them for a long time, so they’re a great choice for your first pair.
Okajima: This applies to the brand as a whole, but I think many of their models are well-suited to Japanese feet. They’re comfortable even for people with wide feet, and since it’s a Japanese brand, they mold well to the foot. That’s a major appeal.
Fuinam: It used to be hard to get, but is it a little easier to buy now?
Okajima: It’s now easier to buy them if the timing is right. However, they’re often sold out before you know it. There are quite a few repeat customers, and many people collect different color variations of this model.
