05: ASICS SportStyle GEL-NYC 2.0
Softer and lighter.
Fuinam: Last but not least is the “GEL-NYC 2.0.” Is this an updated version of the “GEL-NYC”?
Okajima: Yes. The design incorporates elements from the archival “GEL-1050” model, and you can see those features in details like the oval shape of the heel.

Fuinam: The sole is different from the “GEL-NYC,” isn’t it?
Okajima: While the “GEL-NYC” uses the sole from the “GEL-CUMULUS,” which is still on the market, the “GEL-NYC 2.0” is based on the sole of the “GEL-1050.” Furthermore, it uses cushioning material derived from running shoes, so it feels soft to the touch.
Fuinam: You can tell how light it is the moment you pick it up.
Okajima: You can really feel the difference when you put them on. Compared to the “GEL-NYC,” you can feel the softness right away. It’s a model where the cushioning is easy to notice.
Fukuda: They feel completely different when you wear them, don't they? They're soft, and lighter than they look.
Okajima: Another distinctive feature is that the heel of the sole sticks out slightly. I think they’ll look very trendy when paired with wide-leg pants.
Fuinam: They look bulky, but they're actually lightweight when you wear them. I like that contrast.
Fukuda: They’re soft, but the wide sole provides good stability. While this season’s “GEL-NYC” lineup focuses mainly on tonal colors, the “GEL-NYC 2.0” stands out for its wide range of vibrant colors, such as olive and blue. This model is also recommended for those who like to have fun with color.
