I think BEAMS is a really interesting company. There are a lot of people who are well versed in all kinds of fashion and culture, and everyone is unique. From the perspective of a media person like myself, it is a treasure trove of material. Among the zoo of animals that make up BEAMS, Tadayuki Kato has a particularly unusual talent. He is the director of the SSZ. brand, a buyer for the surf and skate department, and a farmer living in Kamakura. Yes, he is a man of many talents. Mr. Kato is known for his handmade zines that he produces each season, and the amount of passion he puts into these zines is incredible. If you have seen the previous issue of Unplugged, you may have heard about it. Mr. Kato has chosen Kamakura, his hometown, as the theme for this season's "SSZ. It is a collection filled with determination and resolve. The collection is packed with a lot of Kamakura flavor, such as the Daibutsu statue, Zen meditation, horseback archery, whitebait, and surfing. These elements, which at first glance seem difficult to handle, are skillfully incorporated without falling into the colorful category. Although I am the last person to live in Kamakura, I have no choice but to recommend it. There is nothing but love.

There are clothes that have a good appearance. Good to look at, good to wear, beautiful form, three-dimensional silhouette, and so on... These are all positive words, but I think the power of the pattern plays a big role in this. Patterns are the blueprint of clothing. If this is not properly defined, no matter how high quality materials are used and how beautiful the design is, it will not be beautiful. In my opinion, "Ur" is at the top of the list of brands with beautiful patterns. The designer, Mr. Urushiyama, has a background as a pattern maker, so it is not surprising. The pants I chose are a perfect pair that fulfill all of my recent cravings: thick, tucked, and slightly supple fabric. A few years ago I used to wear tight pants a lot, but lately I don't feel comfortable unless they are thick anymore. I want my pants to have a little bit of badassery and sex appeal (something I don't have at all...). Then I really feel like they should be loose-fitting and still tucked in.
