TEMBEA × BEAMS RECORDS special order record backpack
Tell us about this bag.
This is a special order from "BEAMS RECORDS," of which I am the director, for "TEMBEA. . There was a time when I was looking for a bag to carry records for DJing, and I came across a backpack at a TEMBEA exhibition. I thought it would be the perfect size to hold my records if I changed it a bit, so I placed a special order. We launched it several years ago, and it is still a best-selling model. Some of the most successful DJs have purchased it.
. Which parts of the product did you order separately?
The main change we made was in the height. . and we also increased the overall size. As a person in the field, it is nice to be able to store DJ equipment such as headphones and cartridges on the top when records are inserted. . Another important point is that the take-out opening is a full-open type zipper. It is very convenient because it is easy to take records in and out while playing.
When do you use this bag?
Considering the number of records that can be stored, it's suitable for a site that takes roughly one to one and a half hours. With this size, train travel is not a problem, and I like to have both hands free. . When I DJ after work, I carry my work gear in the tote bag with me.
I see that you don't use a hard case or carry-on bag when you DJ.
Hard cases themselves are heavy, and I am not a fan of bags that are integrated with the carrier. When I spin for a longer time, I carry a standard nylon bag, which is larger than this bag, but weighs more than 20 kg for 100 vinyl records. DJing vinyl records is a physical job.

. Then, what are your criteria for choosing a bag?
. What I look for when choosing a bag is its design and ease of use. There is no rule that says you have to choose a record bag because you are a DJ.
You said that it doesn't matter what you use it for, as long as it holds what you want to put in it and you like the design.
I think this bag would also fit in well not only as a record bag, but also as a regular backpack. With a standard color like this, it is easy to match with everyday clothes and can also be used for work. . Besides, they are made of sturdy canvas, so they can be used with love for a long time.

Inspired by record bags, Mystery Ranch's "Bindle" is made of a durable fabric that can withstand the movement of records and a thick shoulder made of the same material as a seat belt. The bag's design is not typical of a record bag, and we are sure that Aono will like it as well. Not only for holidays and visiting record shops, but the black and gray colors can also be used for business occasions with a suit. The lineup includes several types of materials, such as hard poly canvas (left) and soft dry wax (right).
