BACK TO BAG vol.1
Ask the creators how to choose a daily bag.

Bags are not only used to carry things, but are also considered a fashion item. In particular, a bag used daily for work is like a mirror that reflects a person's lifestyle, depending on the combination of clothes, places to visit, and things to carry. So, how do creators who are often on the move choose the bags they use on a daily basis? We asked five creators from different professions about their criteria. Their opinions, full of individuality, can be used as a reference for your holiday bag.

A tough one

. As a tool for your work, the one you use the most is your suitcase, isn't it? Which one is this?

I have been using a Rimowa suitcase for the past two years. Since my job as a hair and makeup artist requires me to travel long distances from job site to job site and carry a lot of luggage, it is important that my suitcase is easy to carry and sturdy. That is why I chose Rimowa. Some cases break down after a year or so, but I thought it was very sturdy.

How did you end up with Rimowa?

I used to carry a suitcase when I was an assistant, and I remember how easy it was to carry. I used to use a suitcase made by a different manufacturer, but it is much easier to use than that, and I think that if I were to use a Rimowa bag for work in the future, it would be the one I would choose.

The contents of the bags are bag-in-bags of different sizes, carefully packed like a puzzle.

According to Akizuki, "These big tires are very easy to use.

I also like the long handles that don't hit my heels when I'm walking.

What do you particularly like about it?

. First of all, they are big tires. They are large enough to be easily maneuvered, and they are very tough. After a suitcase has been used for a long time, the bearings become misaligned and start to squeak while being transported, but when I bring it to a Rimowa store, they fix it right there and then.

That's a great point for busy people.

. I also like the fact that such after-sales care is well provided. Also, the body of this model is elastic without being too rigid, which is helpful even if it expands a little due to the many work tools to be stored. The handles also extend well, which is perfect for ensuring ease of walking.

How do you store them when you actually use them?

Basically, I put all the tools I need to set my hair in my suitcase. Of course, I also put my makeup tools in there as well, but I keep them in a bag-in-bag, subdivided by type, and organized so that I can work on them easily when I arrive at the shooting location.

. Then, how do you use the backpacks?

If it is just a men's shoot, one suitcase is often enough, but if it is also a women's shoot, I need more makeup tools, so I carry them in an "Arc'teryx" backpack. I use one I had at home without permission (laughs). (Laughs.) In the backpack, I put brushes and other things that I want to wash immediately after a shoot and that need to be easy to take out.
