SHART&BAHK's message to be conveyed through graffiti.
While major comedians held talk sessions, two graffiti writers who work on the streets of Tokyo were also present at the event.
Their name is SHART&BAHK, and although they are still in their teens, they have a clear social message, appealing for peace, freedom, and equality, which they incorporate into their graffiti. This time, instead of street graffiti, we asked them to paint freely on a canvas of colorful 8-hole boots.
I always wanted to buy a pair of "Dr. Martens" because my favorite rock musicians wore them. Joe Strummer and Hiroto Komoto wore them, too. This is the first time I've painted in public like this, but I'm not particularly nervous. My room is almost like this.
I was told I could do whatever I wanted, so I painted graffiti as usual. I had never drawn on shoes before, but it was fun. My parents were mad at me when I drew a slightly radical message, but I thought, "Dr. Martens is worn by punks, so why not? I thought, "Dr. Martens are worn by punks, so why not?
