A turntable that feels like a musical instrument.

Well, well, well... (laughs). By the way, both of you had your first turntables made by "Technics. Was there a reason for that?
Yoda:When I decided to buy one, I consulted Mr. Fujiwara of MU-STARS, and he told me it was "Technics," and I said, "Yes, that's right," and I followed his advice (laughs).
Saito:By the way, I also consult with Fujiwara when I buy one (laughs). I guess when it comes to turntables, it's the brand of "HANWA", isn't it? I have always wanted to buy one of these. A friend of mine bought one for me as a high school entrance gift, and as I stood next to him and watched, I knew I wanted to get one someday. Incidentally, I am still using the "SL-1200MK5" that I bought at first, and it has not broken down at all, which is also amazing.
Yoda:They are really tough, aren't they? I first encountered Technics when I was in high school. A close friend of mine bought a Technics turntable, and he was a hip-hop fan and a b-boy. He was a hip-hop fan and a b-boy, and I started to form a picture in my mind of hip-hop, b-boys, and "Technics. My friend was sophisticated and fashion-conscious, so I was impressed by the fact that he was from that kind of world.
Saito:. I'm from a different generation, but I know the feeling. Our generation was in the age of vinyl records rather than CDs. But, to begin with, we were in the age of "what kind of person is a DJ? I was in the era of "what kind of person is a DJ? The magazine featured a "Technics" turntable along with a DJ, but turntables and home-use record players are completely different, so the design of the turntable was new to me. I thought, "What the heck is this? . When I first saw it at a friend's house, I thought it was really cool.

Today I brought the SL-1200MK7, the latest in the SL-1200 series, which you both own. Do you still find Technics turntables attractive as equipment?
Saito:It is definitely an attractive piece of equipment with performance, but for me, it feels like a musical instrument. It feels like a musical instrument to me. . When I play a record, I feel as if I am playing a musical instrument. Not only the sound of the record spinning, but also, for example, the feel of the knob that changes the pitch when you hold the knob is like a musical instrument. There is something special about it, something different from ordinary turntables.
Yoda:. and it's genuinely cool. This is a bit off topic, but when an audio geek friend of mine decided to buy a record player not for DJing, but for listening, he looked into the specifications of various companies. When he did so, he found that "Technics" was by far the fastest in terms of the speed at which the speed stabilizes when the player is rotated from a standstill. He said that Technics was the best choice, even after examining the stability of rotation, and that Technics was the only candidate. Isn't it great that they are so reliable even from a geek's point of view? (laughs) .
. (laughs). By the way, do you have any plans or things that you two would like to do together?
Yoda:At the moment, Jun and I are not taking anything away from each other (laughs).
Saito:Haha , yes (laughs).
Yoda:In terms of DJing, I can't do as much as I used to because of the Corona Disaster, but if things change and it becomes acceptable for a DJ like me to play, I would like to DJ again, but only on vinyl records. I would like to DJ record-only again.

I guess since you started DJing, "cup and cone" has been associated with bicycles and hardcore punk, but there has been a slight change in design, hasn't there?
Yoda:At first, I was thinking of designing something that would mix my favorite bicycles with punk elements. Of course, I still love punk, hardcore, and bicycles, but what I am really into now is house and other dance music, so I decided to take this opportunity to really focus on what I love. I contacted labels that I was interested in and started producing products.
