Vol. 2 features Ms. Seya and Mr. Fukuyama, both of whom work at Ships. They say, "We have been talking about music and fashion for a long time. Today, we visited SNOW SHOVELING, a bookstore and gallery in Komazawa, to dig for a bargain book! . White T's go well with even cultural spaces.
Do you usually read books?
Fukuyama:No ... . to be honest, I don't have much to read.
Se Valley:I don't get much either. If I do pick up a book, it's a fashion magazine. . Since I spend more time at home, I would like to take my time and read a book on my days off.
Fukuyama:But there are many books here ("SNOW SHOVELING") that I am interested in!
Se Valley:Yes, I would! I've been interested in typography lately , so an art book like that would be nice. Also, I've been spending more time at home, so I'd be interested in a book on furniture.
Fukuyama:I like music , so I would like a book related to that.
Toshinori Seya, Men's Buyer at SHIPS. He is such a big fashion lover that he orders items from overseas for his favorite brands that are not carried in Japan. This spring, he is focusing on scarves.
What kind of music do you like?
Fukuyama:I haven't changed since I was a teenager, I still like punk rock and melocoa, and I don't really dig new music too much. I have been playing drums as a hobby since high school .
Is that still the case?
Fukuyama:. Sometimes, though. . there is a staff member who can play an instrument at Ships, so we sometimes go into the studio together. It's a great way to relieve stress, and it feels good. . At home, I listen to music or watch live videos on YouTube.
Do you like music, too?
Fukuyama:I am not as detailed as Mr. Fukuyama, and I can't play an instrument either. . I like fashion after all, so I spend most of my time at home looking at clothes.
Shohei Fukuyama is a staff member at Ships' Shibuya store. His hobbies are visiting hot springs and ramen shops. He is also a music lover who has been playing the drums since he was in high school. He admires bands that colored his youth, such as Green Day.
Se Valley:I found the book I wanted! RIKAKO's style book. A friend of mine has it and I wanted to have it . It introduces her personal items and so on.
Fukuyama:Isn't he wearing something really nice? And you look so young!
Se Valley:It's a style icon, isn't it? . like this one, and many people still dress like this.
It was published in 1995.
Fukuyama:It doesn't fade away , it's fresh. This is a good study. Come to think of it, our tastes in clothing may seem similar, but we are different.
Se Valley:Indeed . . Mr. Fukuyama is much more familiar with the backstreets and street fashion than I am. I am 7 years younger than Mr. Fukuyama, and many of my classmates followed his generation's back and wore street brands. I liked American traditional, so I would say that the fashion I went through in my teens was a little different.
Fukuyama:Well, now that we are involved in the same store, we can talk from the same perspective.
