STYLE 2 We pay respect to the things that our predecessors have created.
Do you notice any changes in yourself as you continue to wear classic items such as "Champion"?
Yes, I do. Of course, change is not everything, but even so, I am not afraid of change. Even as a brand director, I am always thinking about what kind of card I should play, based on my assessment of what is going on in the world. Everyone tells me I think too much (laughs).
What makes you think about it? For example, is it art or nature that inspires you to make clothes?
Lately, I often have a sudden idea in the hours before bedtime. Sometimes I can't sleep because of it. But when it comes to inspiration, I don't do anything special. Holiday" does not take the approach of having a seasonal theme and delving deeply into it, and I myself have had a career of more than 20 years in men's and women's brands. If you ask me what I base my approach to making clothes on, I would say my past experience.
You mean that there is no need to be bound by stereotyped values. By the way, for the second styling, you chose the "T1011" series, which is synonymous with heavyweight T-shirts. How do you feel about it?
I still like the thickness of the fabric. It has a unique heavyweight feel. Of course vintage T-shirts have a certain atmosphere, but most of them are thin and worn out, and the silhouette doesn't come out beautifully in large sizes. Especially for layered styles like this, I prefer fabrics that are firm and look good.

Kikuchi's styling, which combines men's and women's items in just the right balance, is the quintessential Kikuchi style! I felt that layering an authentic college print T-shirt with a rough size feel was fresh.
This layered style is a standard combination at Holiday. That's why I decided to style it this time when I saw the college T. The vivid coloring was also a deciding factor. The vivid coloring was also a deciding factor.
I think I can start copying your T-shirt-and-denim outfit tomorrow by playing around with size, color selection, and accessories. By the way, when you make clothes at Holiday, do you often think about or refer to items made by Champion and other historic casual makers?
It is presumptuous of me to say so, but of course, I believe that our own manufacturing is based on such clothes. From there, we ask ourselves, "How would we make it if it were us? Personally, I am particularly fond of cut-and-sewn garments, and have worn many items made by American sportswear manufacturers. In particular, we have long wanted to make our own US cotton-style items. When I look back at the classic products of Champion and other brands, I am reminded of the greatness of those who came before us.
